Now-- here are my issues
-The photos are comparable.. but I think Dan has the ability to be more creative
-Do I need or want the 2nd photographer that Velvet offers? Does it make a difference if they are guaranteeing the same amount of proofs?
-I was not impressed w/ velvet's video sample- but I really liked Golden Moments...however, they already have 1 wedding booked on my day so Pat wouldn't be doing the wedding himself..it would be a guy who has worked with him for 8 yrs. The Velvet video does not include bride prep
-Dan doesn't offer enlargements or TY cards in his package. But, could I do this myself for minimum $$$ on snapfish or something?
-I want engagement pics- Dan charges $500, they are included in Velvet's package (which is appx. $500 more than Dan's)
I know I am getting more from Velvet-- but I'm stuck on the video from Gold. Mmnts. and I really liked Dan...not to say that I didn't like Bob- he was a nice guy...
I don't know what to do..I'm meeting with 1 more photog tonight- Modern Wedding Photography, but then I would have to do video seperate and I 'm not sure I want to do that.
ALSO- There is a friend of the family who works for a photographer- my family also knows the photog...but only b/c she has shot some events we were at. She gave me a pretty good price, less than the other 2, but she isn't widely used- she doesn't advertise. She offers 2 photogs, albums, TYs, etc. . .but I'm concerned she doesn't have enough experience and didn't have a whole lot to show me...no completed albums or anything...more like a pile of random proofs.
ETA: The proofs she showed me were on par with the other photogs...some were generic, some were very creative...she shoots candids and formals, her partner does photojournalism. She has a video guy she works with...the video wasn't that great.
What do I do?
PS-- I realize that both prices are reasonable compared to what some of you girls are paying...but my photo/video budget is around $5000 and that, for me, is a splurge
THANKS for your input
