What stroller do you like?

I am starting to research strollers. Which ones do you own? Which ones did you buy and return? where did you do your research?
I know I have to try them for myself but I figured I would ask the BTDT moms too.

I bought Princeton by Graco



I have to tell you I am not a fan of the pattern but it is SO light (for a travel system), it folds up SO easily and you can steer it with one hand.

I also bought an umbrella stroller to keep in my trunk. The big strollers take up SO much space and an umbrella is SO much easier when you just need to pop into a store and you dont want to lug the baby around. (Plus they are only $19-$50)


I did most of my research at Consumer reports (for the car seat), Babies R Us and Baby Center for the System.

Maybe I went a little overboard b/c I will have 3 strollers. I began my stroller search based on the fact that my SIL is giving me her Peg Perego, which is in very good condition and is good quality. If she wasnt' giving it to me, I would have chosen a travel system, probably one that goes with the Graco Snugride infant carseat (which is what I have).

I also got the snap-n-go for convenience, which is good as long as baby is in the infant car seat. Then, I got the Maclaren, Quest in faded denim, since it's a lightweight/umbrella, 12lb stroller, that I can take in and out of the car easily. I think I have to wait a few months to use this one.

I have 2 strollers - a Combi Ultra Savvy and a Graco Sterling. The Combi is super lightweight and folds small but has no basket to speak of. The Graco is a behemoth but lots of basket space for shopping. I like them both.

What does one look for in a stroller??

When shopping for a stroller, you have to really consider how you will use it. Will you go for walks everyday, or just occasionally? Will you be a mall walker, or an outdoor walker (this could largely depend on the season you have your baby, initially)

You will want to look for the following:
- Large (and accessible) basket under the seat
- Large cup holders that can accommodate any size drink
- Adjustable height handle - this is convenient for making either Mom or Dad comfortable when pushing the stroller (Graco MetroLight has this)
- Swivel front wheels that corner on tight turns and narrow shopping aisles
- RECLINING SEAT for the baby!
- Lightweight, so you don't throw your back out trying to get it in and out of the car.

These are the features that made me choose my stroller. I have a Graco MetroLight stroller in the French Bear pattern. This stroller also accommodates the Graco Snugride Infant seat - however, it is not sold as a 'travel system.' Each item was purchased separately.
