What the hell should I get the man for a graduation gift?

He's graduating from law school.

I was thinking a tumi briefcase, but I'm completely - he says that he wants nothing from me because I support him, but whatever, I want to get him something.

Thoughts?

When my cousin graduated Law School my mom got him a Tumi briefcase - it's very lawyer-ly...

FH is graduating Med school... So i got him all dr related things...
A book 'HOw Doctors Think'
An anatomical lifesize model of a brain (he's specializing in neurosurgery)
and some fancy golf club he wanted...

I should look into this and coordinate with the MIL to see what she's doing.

Thanks, Sylvia.

He is a tie snob. For real. We usually walk up to Central Park from Grand Central on nice days and we can't walk up Park Avenue because I will be subjected to 45 minutes of TIE shopping.

sex and massage - after all that studying and working hard, he is going to need to destress

or a briefcase.

or something really random and non-lawyer related, cause that is always a good time.

Kevin also only has one tie, but I like it. I have one too, with Gumby all over it, not sure where it is tho.

Sorry I can't help Mel, I'm all out of ideas but the briefcase sounds good, just go with that.

I was just going to tell you...my unoffiical poll here at work had a clear winner...a briefcase WITHOUT a divider in the middle.

it is hard to fit large files and/or your laptop when there is a divider. you want one where the main comparment is a big cavernous area.

Andrew's Ties in Italia has great ties and shirts at good prices.

In the Galleria behind the Duomo, there are a few great (and semi reasonable) shirt shops. we've both purchased shirts here.

There is a suit store, I think it's on Via Lentasio a few blocks from the Duomo, but the Irish Goods store, that has nice suits. I've never had enough cheek to go in though LOL

Bookmarking this for when I go for the briefcase next week! Thanks so much - that's a huge huge help to me, Jess.

And thanks to ALL of you for your awesome suggestions. He wants a rolex, too, but that's gonna wait a while I think
