Oh don't you just love when people feel they always have to give their opinion on EVERYTHING!?!? Whether you tell people you are spending $10 a head or $300, people are going to make comments because people are stupid. I think sometimes people forget what its like to get married and do not realize how things have changed.

I have gotten some reactions from people on other things and why are we paying that much, why do we need to get that, etc., and now FH and I just sorta laugh at it. Oh and it also makes for interesting conversation on here

it doesn't even have to be family that's involved. anyone will just give you their opinion whether you like it for not, and it is probably something you won't like. i would just keep everything to myself going forward because you will just give them more to talk about. my friend told me not to bother with anything extra, because people will not appreciate the cost and quality and just talk about you.

So long as you guys are paying for the wedding, it is NO ONE'S business how much you pay!!! I am noticing more and more as I plan the wedding that people just do not know when to keep their opinions to themselves!!! While we all apprecaite input here and there, sometimes people (especially family) cross the line and become down right cruel in their 'opinions' which are usually not opinions at all just flat out insults!!

Welcome to the world of wedding planning. I do not even tell people how much I pay for things. People really do not think before they speak.!

I don't tell people how much we are paying, especially people from back home (Michigan) because they will not understand NY prices. One you tell people things, then they always have to offer their opinions, whether you want them or not. I also hate it when people try to not to subtly compete with you. One of my sorority sisters was like 'We are having this, this, and this' and I am like it's a wedding, not a f'ing circus.

Jenny dont worry about what other think and say!!!! It is your day and you are going to make it the best!! It doesnt matter what you spend as long as you have it and do it the way YOU two want to do it!!!!

Oh don't listen to them.....I get that crap all the time, I'm paying $165 a person for a Sunday evening and when some people ask me how much i'm paying I tell them and if they think I'm wasting money then that's their friggin problem.

Jenny....i would make them squirm and tell them you're paying $250 a person LOL....they'll die!!!

ignore people, and to be honest, no matter what you do to go out of your way to make people happy, it will never be enough, people will always be unhappy no matter what. Whats important is that you and FH are happy so do what makes you both happy.

I had a similar problem. I told FH's sister how much the photographer was and she was like OMG that's soo much money! Then my sister who is also my MOH told me I was crazy for paying for chair covers. From that point on I decided I was no longer going to share how much we were paying for anything with anyone besides my parents who are helping us. Bottom line it's your choice and no one has a place to bash what you want. YOU GO GIRL! Hey if I was a millionaire I'd spend a million on our wedding!
