my photographer told me today to be ready with my hair and makeup done by 12:15 and my ceremony isn't until 6:30. We are going to westbury gardens at 3 pm. i still think thats early to have everything done. She said when she arrives at 12:15 she will take pics of me getting into my wedding dress, and we should leave for old westbury at 2:15. so thats 2 hours of me getting into my dress
Dosen't sound right. Don't let them dictate to you the times. You let them know when you plan on being ready and let them work around your schedule. You don't want to look undone for the ceremony.

I def. think you need to over-estimate the time you need, but that does sound a bit extreme!

My ceremony was at 3...I had to leave my place by 130 to make sure we got there on time.. Hair was at 830 (actually happened at 930) and m/u was at 11....photographer was there before I got back at 11....started getting dressed after my m/u was done.
Remember that things may run longer...you may run into a bump...also-your photographer may want to get pics of you before you go to the gardens for pics...this will take time

that definitely sounds bit early... our ceremony is at 3 and my stylist is coming at 9 and will take about 2 hrs... then by the time I get dressed and what not we'll have about 2.5 hrs for pics...then again we have a really small BP so we don't need too long.

I agree. My hair appt will be 8:00 am then I have to be back at my house at least 11:30 to get dressed then the photographer will be coming at 12:00 then we leave at 1:15 for the church.

We are going to take pictures at 12:30 so my makeup and hair is coming at 8:45 am and my photographer will be arriving at 10:00 am.

ok, I can give you the opposite extreme.... which was at my wedding
Hair (since we arrived late ) began at 730AM. MOH and I were done at 830AM. We arrived home by 840. I did my make-up with the help of my friend. Make-up done by 9:10AM. I was laced into my dress, and jewelry on by 9:30AM....
was it crazy in our apartment (with 10 people waiting for me, and getting in the way)? oh yeah... Did I pull it off? TOTALLY.
Frankly, due to the drizzle and breeze outside, I wouldn't want my hair/make-up done too early. I would want my pics done right after getting dressed. Things unravel so easily! Also, you don't want to have to eat/drink in your gown before the reception....
oh, I should add that our ceremony was at 11am, and pics were at 10AM.... and at 930AM there was a traditional polish blessing in our apartment....

i have the same start time... my photographer told me to be ready by 1pm.. so in my world since i'm always late .. i plan to be done by 12:30.. we are leaving my house around 2:15 to go to the planting fields for pics and then off to the RH for more pics and then the ceremony starts at 6:30.. pictures at RH end at 6pm so we can relax and get ready to walk down the aisle(i'm getting married at the RH)..
so dont think he is far off.. not sure how you plan to wear your hair but my stylist suggested i bring a curling iron with me to freshen up some of the curls... as far as MU.. i had my trial MU on for a while and it lasted all night...
dont worry.. better to be early than cutting it close!

is this normal?
My photographer said I should be ready by 12:30 and my ceremony isn't until 6. He wants to take pics at the hotel until 2 of me, parents, and girls. Then we're going to the arboretum w/ the BP until 4. then we're going to the hall. It does sound extreme, but I have to factor in travel time and I want to get as many pics done b/f the ceremony so I could enjoy myself for the rest of the night.
So to answer your question, my hair & MU people will prob. start at like 10 a.m.

My ceremony is at 3:30 and my hair and makeup will probably both be done by noon. I have no idea if that's too early or too late but I'm just going with it. Don't worry, I think it's good to have too much time to get ready than not enough.

ceremony is at 4 and im not starting to get ready til like 11:30 or 12, tho my hair/MU will be getting their early morning so they can do the BMs first. i want to be last to get ready.

I don't think it sounds too early... do you have to commute to Old Westbury gardens or is it close by?? You will probably get a bunch of shots at your house getting ready & then more shots w/ your bridesmaids and family... & I'm sure they are figuring you may not be ready at 12:30... and it will be more like 1pm.... I think they are right on the money w/ the schedule... if you make up isn't done yet... then let them wait for that!
My ceremony is at 3:30pm,,,, my hair is at 9:30am and my make up is somewhere in the 12 - 12:30 range at my house. Photographer is arriving at 12:30pm.
