What time should I start my ceremony?

What time should I start my ceremony?

When I spoke to my priest we discussed either a 4 or 4:30 ceremony. My cocktail hour starts at 7 and I don't want to miss it. We are doing immediate family photos in the Church after the ceremony and then we are stopping at a park for photos with the bridal party. When we arrive at the hall we are going to take a few more pictures. If I start at 4:30 do you think I'll have enough time for everything? How long do pictures take? My mom thinks 4:00 is too early because people won't know what to do between the church and cocktail hour. Help Please!

i would do 4 just to get some piece of mind that you will have enough time in between. i have been to weddings where there was a gap and it worked out fine...

i'd start at 4 and have the extra picture time (and driving time, if necessary) ... honestly, your guests won't really have anything to do regardless of whether you begin at 4 or 430...!

as a bride, i would say 4 so that you are not rushed for pictures. As a guest, i would say 430 because there is nothing to do in between esp if you have guests that do not live close. Ultimately though it is your day so you should do what you want and not worry about the 30 minute difference.

I don't think 4:00 is too early at all...my church is at 2:00 and my CH isn't until 6:00.

i would do 4pm to make sure you have enough time for everything. epecially if you want to be at your CH. its not your job to figure out what people do in the in between time between your ceremony and your reception

this is a really dumb question, but when does it start getting dark at that time?

Sunset is around 6:50pm on 9/24

ETA: it's not a dumb question at all

I would definitely say 4:00.

I think 4:00 is fine.

My ceremony is at 1:30 and my CH starts at 5. Its your day, don't worry about making others happy or keeping them occupied

I would definitely start at 4. Give yourself as much time as possible for pictures because you don't want to feel rushed.
