What time to get to RH?

So I booked with Camelot today! Joe was great and the prices were very reasonable. One more thing to check off the list!

My question was, what time are you planning on getting to your RH? Joe said that we only need to book the limo until 5:30 since that is the time we should get to the RH, which is a half hour before the cocktail hour starts. I planned to get there right at 6, when the cocktail hour starts. He said you need time to take pictures at the RH before the guests arrive. I had really wanted to go somewhere between the church and RH to take pictures but I guess we won't have time now. Our ceremony is from 3-4 in Queens and the reception starts at 6 at Jericho Terrace. I had wanted to go somewhere to take pics since I don't really think JT has a ton of space for outdoor shors. And plus, our bridal party is really big (17 total). Just wondering what time you all planned on getting to your cocktail hour and if you think JT has enough outdoor spots for pictures since that's what I'm concerned about. TIA!

My church is in Queens also @ 2:30pm and we are having a mass so we wont be finished until about 4pm. Our cocktail hour is at 7 but we are taking our pictures at the RH.

I think you can take pictures somewhere else first and still get there in time for your cocktail hour.

My church starts at 3 - no mass and i would like to get to the RH no later than 5 so we can do an hour of pics and not have to miss our CH.

i was just thinking about this the other day. i am booked with camelot too and im a jt bride...right now i have my ceremony booked for 3:30 and its in manhasset which is only 10 minutes from mineola but im thinking of changing it to 3pm. im taking pictures on the grounds behind my chapel and i figure that if the ceremony ends at 3:45, we will take pics for an hour till say 4:45 and then be at JT by 5pm...i know thats early but i want to have time to take pics at jt and maybe relax for 10 minutes to touch up makeup, etc.

JT does have limited areas to take pictures but when you have a good photographer they make the best out of the area and i have seen a variety of shots of the outside and then the inside offers a good variety of options too. I would say though you might want to take other pictures in another location as well. i would say to not have your ceremony any later than 3pm, maybe earlier to be able to get to JT by atleast 5:30. Also, you have to remember that if you are interested in taking pics at JT, its not a one wedding at a time place so there might be other brides taking pictures so you need to allow time for that. hth!!

my church is in queens. 1pm ceremony.. lasts 45 min.. but im prob guna be a lil late..and with all the hellos bubble blowing festivities.. i say 1-2:20... jt starts at 5. from church to old westbury gardens(im taking pix there) itll take bout 30 min.(def less but i say 30 min..)so ill be at jt at 4:30 since westbury gardens is 7 min away. so i can take pix at jt also and get settled.


i suggest u bump up ur ceremony time.. better more time than not enough.
