I'm just starting my search for a reception site and I'd really appreciate some help. What are the most important questions to ask when looking at a reception site?
I'm also very nervous about the tax and gratuity. How much per person does that usually add? I was thinking I could afford about $70 a person, but that's with the tax and gratuity...
Thanks for all of your help!

Re: What to ask at reception sites...
I am paying 70 pp without tax and gratuity. It comes out to 90 pp. You can definitely save money by doing a cash bar (it is kinda frowned upon though...IMO)
You need to ask the basic questions:
1) what is included with the price 2) Open bar? Top shelf liquor? 3) Minimum # of people you have to guarantee

If you have excel, I made some nifty questionnaires on my website. Your more than welcome to use them. They are print ready.

I am paying $75 pp, but with tax and gruitity it come to about $95 per person. More questions:
4) is cake included 5) different prices for different days of week? different seasons? 6) what is the maximum # of people? 7) are direction cards and/or place cards included (my place cards were included) 8) Do you have to use thier vendors? (believe it or not some places still do this) 9) What is the cancellation police (just in case )
umm...I can't think of any more. When I went, I had no clue what to ask, but the BM was very thorough in telling me everything.

WOW, that's great, it must have taken you a lot of work. I have a million check lists too, but this is great! I'm sorry that I didn't come on to LIW when I had absolutely no clue where to begin.
