MY FSIL is one of my BM. I picked out the BM dresses one month ago and asked all of the girls to go and get measured. I have 4 girls in the wedding party and my flowergirl. Two of them are right here on Long Island and one in Queens and my FSIL is in Manhattan. Everyone has gone to get measured but her. Its not like she doesnt have a ride she has a car and she was out here 2 weekends ago on Sunday though they are closed. I dont feel I should have to keep reminding her or ANYONE to go a get measured. The order cant go out without all of the measurements. I really am getting kinda angry. I dont want to wait till the last minute and I dont think its fair to the other girls either

Re: What to do?
why dont you tell her a deadline? like that the dress orders are going in on sunday and she needs to be measured by then, otherwise there wont be a dres..

Re: What to do?
With everything, she seems to love to butt the system. I asked her if she wanted to get her make up and hair done with us and she said no I ll do it myself. Her husband asked if we could pick a regular type tux so he doesnt have to rent one and wear his own. And trust me its not a money situation they have plenty of that. She even asked me months ago to pick out the dress so she could wear it to hers friends wedding before mine. I dont understand her. I told my FH and he said this is typical and he will call her if I want him to.

Re: What to do?
I was recently a bridesmaid to a LI bride, and I also live in NYC. It was very difficult for me to get back and forth for everything - arranging rides, working with the train schedule, etc. Of course for her I didn't mind...but I think she started to feel bad and suggested that I get measured and order my dress from RK Bridal (she told me the date I needed to order it by), since it is easier for me to do the measurements, fittings, etc. in NYC. I was very appreciative and went at lunch that day to get fitted!!
Do you want to consider that alternative?

Re: What to do?
I'd have FH call her and give her a firm deadline.
Perhaps she can even go get measured at a store near her and call in the measurements to your store.

Re: What to do?
The same thing happened to me only my FSIL lived literally 5-10 mins from the place. Although she did go to get measured she just kept forgetting to go back to give them a deposit. It held the rest of the girls order up as well but it all worked out. She 'forgot' to bring her $ for her deposit when she went to get fitted. I would give her a deadline 2 weeks before the order should actually go out.

That's what I was going to suggest. I think most stores will do it if you say its an OOT wedding.

Re: What to do?
I think you should have the bridal store call her and tell her that she needs to come in on such and such a date because they are ordering the dress on that date.

if your fh offered to call her, then maybe its a good idea to take him up on it..

Re: What to do?
Thanks for all your advice I will have FH call her or maybe the store. The store said they really would rather do their own measurements because they have had some problems before. She has a car and comes out when its good for her. I know its a pain to come from the city but after this she doesnt have to be BOTHERED till August for the first fittting. Im just stressed and I would like to get the dresses ordered

Re: What to do?
Would it be possible for you to go an d get her or provide her with $$$$$$$$$ for a train or bus, I know it shouldn't be your responsiblity but you don't need the stress it may be worth your time/$$ to get it done. Make a little day of it, and get lunch together too, you can discuss more wedding stuff.
