What to do..

What to do..

There are times where im so confident about the wedding invites that I picked, (I'm currently having a proof made) I got quoted (a ballpark quote) of about $540 for 70 invites. Other times I'm like sheesh $540 for pieces of paper that people are probably going to throw away.... and then I start thinking invites set the tone of the party, whats to come, what you can expect.... Im in a vicious mental circle here!

FH really likes the invites, but idk if im really willing to spend that on paper

I hear where you are coming from, but that doesn't seem like a lot for invites (compared to what I have seen).

If it makes you feel better, I always save invites, so maybe not all of them will be thrown away.

I guess you and FH need to decide how important of a detail it is for you. Everyone has a few things that are really important for them for the wedding to spend a little extra money, whether invites, the cake, flowers, etc.

I personally did not care to spend alot on the invites, I prefered to put that money toward something else. But I actually ended up finding one of those Brides invite kits that I loved. I got 120 invites for $115.00!

I hear where you are coming from. I felt the same way too about my invitations. In my case my MOH offered to pay for my invitations as a gift for FH and I. I told her she didn't have to but she insisted. So now i am trying to keep the invitations not to expensive since i don't want her spending soo much $$ on something more than 1/2 of the ppl will throw away. If it's within your budget then I say go for it, but make sure you don't regret it in the end. I saw the pics you posted of one of your samples and i think they looked amazing.

i havent even started looking at invites but the same thought goes threw my head about the cost.
but i guess if your FH doesnt mind the cost and you can afford it, go for it.

I love saving the invites! My FH's friend (who I barely knew at the time) had a gorgeous set and we saved it. After getting that in the mail, we were psyched to go to the wedding! It really does set the tone.

Hence why I'm spending my whole summer after June 19th trying to work on them. (DIY)

I don't know how you got a quote early on. When I asked her how much does she think it will be she said that she will figure it out when she sends the paperwork. I'm freaking out because I have no idea how much it is going to be, but I am already head over heels with my invites. It really depends on how you feel about it, but I love the look of yours.

It does set the tone for the wedding. Wait until you find out how much they will really cost and maybe you can cut back on embellishments if need be.

Its not an 'official' quote cause of course she hasnt made a prrof yet, but she gave me a 'ballpark' amount of 540.
Its not about cutting back or anything, cause the money is there, I just think there are other things we can be spending on rather than invites.... They're pretty tho

I saw ur invites, and I was like.... Woooooooow lol they're super nice

Re: What to do..

I think it all comes to what your priorities. For me invitations was one of my last priorities. If I could get away with sending out an evite I would. I have never saved a wedding invitation for longer than the wedding no matter how nice it is so I feel like it is a waste of money but that does not mean that you should.

I am spending $500 for 130 invitiations. I am not doing pocketfolds or anything crazy. Just a layered card!

I'm with you on the invites...I envisioned our budget at $500, which I'm *hoping* to be under. Seems like such a waste of money..
