What to do? Can't choose a dress!

I've looked and tried on lots of dresses, but none are thilling me. I mean, they are all pretty, but nothing is like wow...I want THIS one. Do I keep looking? Or should I just get whichever one I have already looked at that's the cheapest? I'm afraid I just won't find the one and I'm kind of bummed about it.

No way, keep looking!! Try on ones that you never would of imagined yourself in (thats what I ended up buying). You will know when you find it!! Don't settle for something you don't LOVE!!

Welcome to my club. I have been to 16 bridal stores. I ended up trying dress on when I was traveling in San Francisco and liked a dress more than usual - and now waiting to try it on on the east coast. I think some people might not find 'the one'. I am finding one I can afford and like. Its kind of depressing.

don't settle! I had a lot of trouble finding my dress, as you said, there were a lot of nice ones, just none I loved...and then one day, i found the one and I LOVE IT! I prob visited every bridal shop in nassau county but it was well worth it....keep looking, you will def find your dream dress out there!

Hmm....I'm sorry you are depressed too. But to be honest, I'm a little happy someone else is in the same boat!

haha thanks. I know everyone says not to settle etc - but I have been to so many stores I physically can not go to another store.

Don't give up! I was in the same situation and was going to buy a dress this weekend that I liked but didn't love. While I was at the bridal salon, I saw another dress with really pretty lace. on a whim, I tried it on, and that was the one! So keep looking - don't give up!

You have the time so keep shopping. I chose a dress after two hours of shopping and 3 dresses- I like it and almost love it but wasn't into the dress shopping mode- I am finishing up my last semester of college so I didn't have time to shop, plus I needed to get my order in so I didn't have to pay for rush delivery-I wish I had the time tho! I know I won't regret my choice-I'm very happy with it but wish I could have looked. Maybe you should take a few weeks off from shopping and try again fresh?

I had a very tough time finding a dress that I both loved, and could afford. It really turned me off to the wedding planning process as a whole. I loathe bridal salons and I am ecstatic that I never have to set foot in one again.

I saved photos of dress I loved, and emailed/brought them to 3-4 dress makers. I got a range of price quotes and settled on having my dress custom designed by the same women who did my moms dress for my sisters wedding 12 years ago.

I feel so relieved now that I have this dress drama settled. Look in to having it made, it really is not as expensive as you would think. If you want my dress makers info, FM me.

Keep looking, don't settle. My sister went to almost every store on LI (some more than once), and tried on at least 60 dresses before finding 'the one'.

I will add that the Spring 2006 collection dresses are just starting to hit the bridal salons, and by the end of January most (if not all) will be in. Don't be afraid to go back to a salon you already went to (just make sure it is one where you LOVED the service), to try on dresses they just got in.

Keep looking, YOUR dress is out there! My advice to you is to keep an open mind and try on dresses you NEVER thought you would like. I was adamant about wanting thick straps and guess what? My dream dress has spaghetti straps. You'll find your dream dress too, but it might be the dress you least expect.

search through the dresses posted on the knot and in bridal magazines. maybe you'll find a neckline from one dress you like, and a bodice from another, etc. that is what I did. print parts you like and you can have a dress made from that. thing is you have to sit and sort through them all, and that can be tiresome - at least for me it was...

look in magazines for ideas and visit local salons with an open mind. try on many different styles. personally, i did not find my dress and think 'wow, this is THE ONE!'...there were no tears. i just found a dress i loved and could afford and i went with it. i tried on a few dresses after i found mine, and i kept comparing them to that dress. i am happy with my choice! good luck, don't be too discouraged. not everyone sees fireworks when trying on dresses. ~lacey

Look go online and browes at a few dresses, or you can go to a dress maker and tell her what you are looking for and see if she can either make or alter a dress to your liking. Don't just go for the cheapest that doesn't make you feel beautiful.
