what to do first?

what to do first?

seller is being a PITA as far as negotiations are concerned, but since it's a sellers market i guess it's to be expected...

BUT

once all is said and done and we hopefully get the house (we are 'in contract' but post inspection wanted to knock down the price a bit)...provided all goes well and we move in...

WHAT TO DO FIRST?

coming from a 1 bedroom tiny apartment we don't have a lot of items. we do have a list of things we must attack right off the bat, but how to handle decorating? it seems so overwhelming!

is room by room easiest? if so, what order?

We're going to paint all the rooms, because paint is fairly inexpensive.

As for furnishings, we are going to get things little by little instead of in one big spree. We have living room furniture, so that will go into the family room/den in the house. That room, the bedroom (we have nice furniture for that room already) and the kitchen will be the priorities, since we will spend most of our time in those rooms. Since we'll be in the house this month, I also want the yard to be nice.

We will leave one bedroom empty for now and the other bedroom will be a guest room. We saved DH's old bedroom furniture and my old bed so those will suffice for now.

When we have money, we will furnish and fully decorate the 'formal' living room, which we are going to make more like a study since we both do a lot of work at home. Our house does not have a formal dining room, or that would be near the end of the list too.

By the way, where is your house if you don't mind my asking? It's so pretty!
