We're going to Mexico for our honeymoon and staying at El Dorado Seaside Suites, about an hr from Cancun...
What day trips would you recommend doing and which should we skip? How bout going out at night..any fun bars? What about a trip to Cozumel?

My Fh and I had been looking into this hotel and if we had gone there we were going to do a dolphin swim one day and maybe go to the ruins another day. We also had been thinking about doing a zip line excursion. If you go on expdia they have activities for each place. Also try googleing excursions in mexico.

i would suggest the ruins snorkeling in cozumel cozumel has some cute shops as well as costa maya

there is so much to do. i absolutely reccommend going on teh snorkeling trip to the coral reefs - gorgeous! we did the dolphin experience in cozumel and it was sooooo worth it
theres other things like glass bottom boats and sailboat dinners (i get seasick, so we didnt do those)
you can go on tours through the ancient ruins i think there was a jeep safari kind of tour for that

I love it down in Riviera Maya. If you like snorkeling you should definetely go over to Cozumel. I took the ferry to Cozumel and when I got off I had a boat waiting for me for a 3 hour snorkel tour. We went to three different sites and its the most fish I've ever seen snorkeling. I bought the snorkeling package right by the ferry boat to Cozuemel in Playa Del Carmen. Very easy. As for nightlife, Playa Del Carmen is a great town with tons of restarants and bars. They have a senor frogs and carlos and charlies right on fifth ave, but if you go down to 5th ave and 12th street they have awesome bars - I can't remember many of the name but one called the Blue Parrot is right on the beach and they have swings as bar stools. They had a live band and it was happening when I was there. Great breeze from the ocean too. You can also take a trip to the ruins in Tulum or go to places like Xcaret and Xel Ha. They are natural type water parks - with cenotes and snorkeling. I've never been to those two yet but I heard they are great!

go shopping in la playcar!! they have the cutest flea market! ur resort probably has shuttles to bring u there. mine did, we stayed at aventura spa palace.

Great! Thanks for all the suggestions...I can't wait to go! Only 4.5months and looots of stress left..then its 10 days of R&R (and osme sightseeing of course)

If you go to cancun there is a lot to do there. I have been there 3 times and have had a great time everytime.
Food: Best place to eat there is called La dolche Vita. It is italian food and one of the best restaurants I have ever been to.
Activities that I had a lot of fun: -Snorkeling -swimming with dolphins which you get access to the water park there too. -riding quads in the jungle -driving speed boats there is more but I can't remeber
Don't do the horse back riding if you are a horse lover. You walk for 2 hours & only run for like 30 seconds. It *****! Also don't do the lobster dinner with a boadt ride. You think it is going to be romantic and it is not!
Nightlife is great there. The clubs are so much fun. Daddy rock is a club that everything is made out of rocks. You walk into a big rock, the city is another great club that does little shows too. A lot of the clubs are great there.
Shopping is good there too. There are 3 malls in cancun and a whole bunch of little shops around as well.
