I set the date for 3/20/10. I was wondering... what do I do now?? Is there anything that needs to be done right away? - Or should I be booking Photographers and DJ's yet?? I'm really new to this and I'm not sure what the next step is...... HELP!!!!!

you can always book vendors early, its a good thing too bc you can get this years rates if you do it soon, although the rates even stay until beginning of the following year so there is an advantage. Theres no order that people MUST stick with it. Usually photography and dj do get done first since they are 2 very important vendors

many places their prices always go up regardless, even when i booked in 06 and 07 before the economy got this bad. Soon after i booked almost all my vendors prices went up so i got really lucky with that. Otherwise ive would've paid more for my vendors
dont feel you have to go crazy booking everything, make sure you do enough research though so later on you dont regret a decision. But if you want to start setting up appointments with vendors and booking soon there is nothing wrong with it

Yea.. I'm gunna research the heck out of everything...
Photographers and videograpers I think are the most important part of the night... My sister got married almost 2 years ago now and we booked this place that was really cheap.. they ended up stealing her money and then over a year later gave her the sh*tiest pictures in a used dirty album and a video that was half the wedding and half the floor... I promised myself I would get the best there was when it came to my wedding after that... I went to visit ADA yesterday, but couldn't find the building so me and my FH just left and went home, lol.

oh wow that is horrible, so sorry to hear that. Yeah the good thing is you can do alot of research on here and find out brides experiences with vendors and how they performed the day of and how they liked their pics.

most do, all of mine did. My photographer i put a deposit but also had about 3 payments to do before the wedding. Same with Dj i had 3 installments. Videographer i paid half and then when i get my video i will pay the remainder

yeah it will all depend on the vendor, they all have different ways of doing this. SOme do and some don't. But to book a vendor you ONLY put down a deposit, no vendors ask for the full payment to book them. Some you only put a deposit and then next time you pay is right before the wedding and you pay the rest of the amount. Others you put a deposit and then you pay lets say 3-4x before the wedding and have the last payment due about 2 weeks or so before

Yes, I hear the dates go very quickly & then you are sure to get the one that you want. My photographer Duval in wantagh gave payment plan.

Alot of the 2010 girls are booking now, but some like me are waiting a little while. There's still decent amount of time, so you can definatly wait, but also some of the more popular vendors might book. So if you have a particular vendor in mind you definatly must hvae- book now!

First I just want to say congrats! Yes you do have time, I booked my Reception Hall last November and I'm getting married in two weeks lol. So I booked my vendors after that and found good ones. What you can do to start off with is see who your hall recomends and check them out first. They might be a little pricey though and then of course seach on here! Everyone will give you an honest opinion! Good luck!
