So I am going through my bulk mail in yahoo and I find a letter from the Hotel where I blocked rooms for the wedding and guess what... the cut off date has passed... and my parents did not book their room....
I called the Hotel frantically but all I can do now is wait for the sales manager to contact me.. I asked for them to extend a room until tonight.

Sorry to hear that. That almost happened to me, but I caught it before the cut off date and was able to get the hotel to extend the entire block until the end of the month.
I hope your parents book the room soon

Sometimes the people will honor the block after the cut off date if there are still rooms available, that happened to a friend of mine who didn't block in time, she was able to get the same rate still.
