If you have a gap between your ceremony and your reception, what are you planning on having your guests do during that time? I have a four hour gap and I have no idea what to do! None of my family members can host an in between party...

Re: What to do with my guests?
My church is at 2 p.m. and because it is a full mass it should end around 3 p.m. I figure by the time we take pictures and leave the church, should be between 3:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. I am getting married in Bklyn and having my reception in LI so I figure that we should get to the Manor East between 4:45 - 5 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., the Manor East is going to serve a precocktail hour (cookies, coffee, etc.).

I don't have a gap in between. Ceremony is at 6:30pm (at the catering hall). Cocktail hour starts immediately after from 7-8pm and reception is from 8-12. We are planning on taking majority of our pictures before the ceremony so we can join our guests at the cocktail hour.

My mass is at 3:30 and should be over by 4:30, by time we leave after the receiving line, it will be close to 5PM. My cocktail hour will begin at 7PM. I think my parents may have people over for a little while and then head to the hall to take pictures. The guests from Long Island can go home. The out of towners can hang out at the Polo Lounge in Westbury Manor, while we take pics.

Re: What to do with my guests?
I have a 3 hour gap. We are probably not doing anything becuase the hall and the church are 40 minutes apart and I figure our OOT guests can go and check in to the hotel and relax between and our LI guests, those that come to the church will most likely go home and get dressed and ready for the reception. But I was to a wedding this summer with a big gap and my friends FIL included in the invitation a note inviting everyone to his house for cookies and drinks in between. So that may be an option.

Re: What to do with my guests?
My ceremony is at 2:30.... cocktail hour/ reception starts at 7. Since we are having a mass, we figure that will end at 3:30 and tack on another 1/2 hour for receiving line and pics. So that leaves us at 4:00
Then for the next 3 hours- I'm trying not to be concerned. I've been to 3 weddings so far where there was a gap, and we couldn't head home, and nothing was offered for us to do. We just occupied ourselves. We got a snack, and we went to the movies the other 2 times.
I was thinking of getting a schedule for the movies and let the guests know what time the movies are playing at the Broadway Mall which is right down the road. That's about it.
