My parents are throwing our engagement party. For anyone who is having a party that someone threw for them what did you get your host. Any suggestions for me?

I sent all 3 sets of parents beautiful floral arrangements after our e-party! You could also give them restaurant gift certificates - maybe attached to a nice bottle of wine or something.

I think I might want to get them something more permanent. I always get them gift certs and wine for nice restaurants. Its a great idea but one that I do for them for christmas. So I think that is why I'm a little stumped. It would only be for my parents (his parents aren't doing anything for the wedding other than showing up)
Lizlen I love the tickets idea too but unfortunately they already have season tickets to the Met. and they never go to all of the ones they have tickets for.
I'm asking for help b/c they are so hard to shop for...lol

How about an expensive frame with your engagement picture in it? Or a picture of the four of you from the party?
what about a potted plant? I got that from my sister for her shower and I killed it...but it was a nice gift

Hmmm now you girls have me thinking. I like the photo idea but should I give them something the day of the party (keep in mind students with a smaller budget I can spend up to about 150$)

Give it to them the night before maybe to show your greatfulness, along with a nice cards & maybe a small dinner out?

You can do the really nice frame, and add the pic after the party.
