what to give as a gift for someone I never met, and DH hasn't seen in 10 years?

We got invited to this guy's surprise 30th BDAY. I never met him, DH hasn't seen him since high school. It's at a firehouse near where we live.

Is $50 okay? Too small? I'm thinking it's too small, but with the mortgage, car payment, various insurances, etc. etc. I'm not feeling too rich right now.

I think if DH hasn't seen him in 10 years & anything more would be a financial strain than that is fine!!!!!

My thought is never give what you really can't afford to for anything!

i think 50.00 dollars is more then fine. if you feel strange giving money you can also give an american express gift card
