I went to a shower the other day and wasn't really sure myself, but I got her one of those balls you put loose tea in to steep, a vegetable cleaner brush and a lobster/nut cracker (our gift was a 3 person joint gift). Just small, inexpensive kitchen items from what I understand, maybe dish towels, stuff like that.
I also was told by my mom that you're not supposed to wrap the wishing well gifts, but other people did. Next time I'd probably wrap them in tissue paper to make it a little more festive.

Some of the more useful items I got in my wishing well were ziploc bags, splenda, coffee, small cutting board, vegetable peeler, coasters, kitchen towels, extension cord and laundry items.

any sort of small utensil like a spatula or wooden spoons..
i got all sorts of stuff! from utensils to stuff to scrapbook stuff

usually you can just buy some little thing off the registry to throw in (like a random kitchen utensil)

my favorite wishing well gifts - my friends put holiday decorations for each holiday through the year (turkey candelstick holders, a shamrock wreath, Christmas potholders, etc.)

I know - I LOVE them, I have my v-day wreath on my front door now and have pink, red and white peanut m&ms in the heart candy dishes.
They actually made a little wishing well for inside the big wishing well...it was soooooooo cute.

I actually did a basket of kitchen stuff as a gift also included like dish soup and hand soup....soo that's why having hard time becuase that's what ppl put in my wishing well but I already giving her that soo need something else..
