What to wear???

I'm going dress shopping for the first time tomorrow!! What do I wear? Do I wear something easy to get into and out of because I'll be changing a lot? Or do you just take off your clothes and just change from one bridal gown into another from that?

And do I wear a strapless bra? Or one that offers more coverage, because I'll be standing around in my bra a lot and am kinda shy?

What about the outfit? Do I wear something trendy and cool so they'll think I have money to spend and show me nice dresses? One of the places I'm going is Priscilla of Boston, so I can try on the best (they're my favorites) and use it as a point of comparison. But I'm picturing a 'Pretty Woman' moment happening.

well i wore a regular bra and just brought a strapless bra with me bc otherwise id be uncomfortable all day with a strapless but if you dont mind it then do that.

I didnt get all dressed up, but didnt dress down too much either...I had on jeans with heels though, and had on this deep v-neck grey long sleeved shirt with a wife beater underneath.

Be yourself!! If they give you crappy service for not dressing 'expensive' go off on them!! I think this day in age and in this city, you can't judge a book by its cover... and if they are snooty, would you really want to deal with them anyway? Anyone gives you problems yo, I got your back!!! I may be little, but I put a good fight! Or you could just bring one of your students with you... lol

I brought a couple bras, but simply got fed up with seeing straps, yadda, so I eventually just exposed the girls and tried on dresses without it...

well i kind of dressed up (jeans, heels and a cute shirt) so i would feel pretty - i put on makeup and did my hair and stuff.

I wore regular panties ( i had to buy them just for that occasion lol) and a full coverage bra (usually wear demis and i pop out LOL)

i would wear a strapless bra - they have them there but there is NO WAY IN HE LL that i am putting something on my boobs that have touched OTHER BOOBS. i just tucked my straps under my arms and if they insisted i wear the trial bra i basically told them to get over it.

About my students, though: They were not in the mood to work at ALL (day before spring break), and when I mentioned something about dress shopping, they were all like, 'can we come?' I said, 'you want to come dress shopping with me?' And did a little mock-runway walk, and was like, 'okay fellas, how do I look?' They all laughed, and then one boy said, 'No, we meant to your WEDDING. Can we come to your WEDDING?' and they all got excited: 'Yeah! Yeah! We want to come!' It was actually pretty cute. I told this one boy (who beat boxes and dances whenever he finishes his work early) that if he came to my wedding, I wouldn't need to hire any entertainment.

That was my thinking too! I don't want to feel like a regular ol' shlub, I want to have a 'pretty day.'

Hey Dava - When I bought my dress at Filene's I wore dark leggings and they showed thru - So if you go with boy shorts, which I just did b/c I had my first fitting this week (ill post later) wear light colored ones - this way it doesn't distort the way it looks.

I actually forgot my strapless and had a blue bra on but it didn't matter too much. I'd say go with the strapless so you dont have to deal with hiding straps.

As for your style - i'd say be comfy!! Have tons of fun and take pics!!

I wore wide-legged Kahkis, a tank top and a black sweater with ballet flats. If someone refused to let me try on dresses according to my appearance, I would not buy a dress from them at all.

I'm trying on dresses for the first time tomorrow too!!! I was wondering the same thing, but i was just going to wing it.. I do plan on doing my hair and makeup though, so i kinda get a feel for how it looks all done in the dress. but i am bringing a strapless bra with me because i want to primarily try on strapless dresses.
