What to wear on Honeymoon?

My fmil said I am supposed to have ALL new clothes from hats to shoes to undergarments, and even a new pocketbook for my honeymoon? She said I should have a whole box of stuff to bring to the honeymoon that FH has never seen before?

1. $$$$
2. Its mid august - if I buy summer stuff to wear to Aruba now through July I am going to want to wear it throughout the summer! I can't wait till August!!!
3. I've never heard this before-Never thought of what i'd bring yet.
4. Fun idea though.

Sounds like a fun idea, but it's not practical for me at least. Expensive, mid-august here too, and I never heard of that. I don't have a lot of cute summer stuff so I will be trying to buy new, and my birthday is the week before so maybe I will get some cute honeymoon stuff for my birthday

I personally never heard of that, but my mom is on my case to go shopping!

I say start now to buy things little by little, a little piece every week or so and put it aside.

But i would wear it if i couldnt help it - just remember to pack it!

me too my mom keeps buying me cute tank tops to wear sparingly now and pack for the HM... (shes a thrifty shopper.. so u ladies if you are donating nice tanks.. im prob wearing them! )

but she too is on my case to get dresses and bathing suits...lol

Maybe that's something they used to do in the old days? I've never heard of it though. And honestly, most guys would probably not notice if you had a new pair of shorts, unless you point it out to them. So they'd prob care less if you bought all new clothes to show off for them on your HM.

But sometimes when I'm going away, I do like to go shopping to get some new outfits for vacation. Not entirely sure why I do it, but I guess it's cause I get all psyched for the vacation and just like an excuse to go shopping.

I'd say maybe get some new cute sundresses or something to wear to dinner. Cause you might want to get a little dressed up for dinner and stuff while on your HM.

I bought all new nightgowns, undergarments, and bathing suits along with 2 nice outfits DH had never seen before.
I also bought new tank tops but that's b/c my honeymoon was in April, and it was the right time of year to be buying new ones for the season in general.

I don't think you have to buy all new clothes, it's a fun idea, and if you have the $$ it's a good excuse to go shopping, but you definitely don't have to if you don't want to, or don't want to spend the money.
DH will probably appreciate you saving the money more than he'd appreciate a whole new wardrobe. lol
