What to write in thank-you cards..

I purchased my thank-you's for my shower - what should I write in them?

since we had a co-ed shower i wrote:

dear krystal,
We wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity. (I couldn't remeber specific gifts). Our shower was even more beautiful because you were there. We truly appreciate your love and friendship. Can't wait to celebrate with you on April 5th!!!

if you want to elaborate you can say

Thank you so much for the ________. I can't wait to start using it/it looks beautiful in our home!
