i'm probably not going to make my minimum of 125. what do halls do about that? will they throw something extra in? i'll probably be about 10-15 people short?

They're not going to throw anything extra in for NOT meeting your minimum. They may make you pay for the people who do not show up (Per your contract) or, they may be nice and let you off the hook. Your best bet is to call them directly and find out

I even asked them if we were like 2-5 short could we at that point count vendors and they said no and no to any children because of the different rates for them to begin with.
I sure know if I miss my minimum , my family will be eating good that week because I'm asking for the dinners to take home, tacky or not, I paid for it..

Most catering halls are accomodating and will throw in some extra stuff. You can always have a LIW table.

if your wedding isn't until next year how do you know you'll be under your min? you have plently of time to add more people to your list!!! Don't worry about that yet!!! Just enjoy your planning!!!!!

Often they will give a discount for your vendors if you do not.

Actually, it was the opposite for use. We would have had to pay full price for everyone if we didn't meet the minimum. Once we met that discounts for vendors & children apply.
To the origianl poster, I wouldn't worry about it just yet since you have nearly a year until your wedding. You may add to you guest list. But if you are genuinely concerned about this and are postitive you won't meet the minimum, why not try to renogiate your contract now?
