The one thing I didn't have that I SHOULD have brought was a ponytail holder. I was dying without one.
my own towel -- the hospitals are like scratchy hand towels
I wish I'd brought a towel. The day I was leaving they had none clean so I couldn't take a shower.
Chocolate - Next time I have a baby Im bringing chocolate. I needed a fix one night around 10pm and there was NONE!!!
My boppy pillow for breastfeeding. My hubby had to go home and get it.
my sil made me pack depends for the heavy bleeding. i used them a few times but felt like I was the one wearing a dipaer!
Hmm-definately chapstick since my lips were sooo dry and those pre moistened washcloths for quick freshen ups before visitors.
gotta agree with the chocolate, I ate the best twix bar of my life at mindnight after no food for almost 24 hours, and all they could offer me was a stale turkey 1/2 sandwich and some crackers - come to think of it, I would have packed a gatorade for after too. Definitely my pillow from home with a colorful case on it so that it didn't get thrown out, I was so happy to have that. ALSO - bring your baby book so that when they do the foot prints they can put them in the book for you too.
Def. bring your own maxi pads, the super ones...I hated the hospital ones. Also some thing to read. I actually packed almost my kitchen sink but I didn't use most of it. Don't forget chapped stick, pillows, granny panties, something to do (if you get an epudrial you are just waiting to push your new bundle of joy out into the world), Summers Eve wipes or baby wipes to freshen up in between showers and labor is a little messy.
