what was the best favor you ever got

at a shower or wedding. Or did you toss them all out?

my cousin made a donation in everyone's name to the cancer center that actually helped save her life--that was the nicest.

recently we got a mikasa wine stopper--that was really nice and we use it a lot, but i guess you have to be a wine drinker.

that was it tho, everything else went in the garbage!!

I got some truffles once, so yummy!!! I also have wine stoppers with the heart top (I got them at two weddings). They are pretty much all that I use.

The worst one was a plaster of paris bust of the Virgin Mary I got when I went with a friend to his friend's wedding.

ETA We are making a donation and I'm thinking of getting personalized M&M's. Not sure where we are making the donation to yet (FH told me last year what it would be and I didn't totally agree at the time so we're waiting until closer to the wedding).

i went to a wedding in dec that was a coffee mug. i'll get a lot of use out of it. it also came with a coffee packet

For one of my good friends-- her mom asked each person invited to the shower to send in a recipe. At the shower, we each got a professionally printed recipe book, with each of our recipes in the book- with each person credited with the recipe. It was very persoal, and I refer to it on occassion.

The best favors I have recieved are Christmas ornaments (which was also the favor at my shower) and donations. I love it when a couple makes a donation to a charity, because I know that the money has gone to good use.

The best favor I ever got was homemade cookies. FH loved them and after a long night and a little drinking it was just perfect!

donation to parkinsons research because the groom suffers from it. it was so touching.

johnny&maur's mom made wine charms for her shower. i can't wait to use them when i have my first party.

i've left everything else at the hall unless it was edible.

A CD at my cousin's wedding. It was a new thing at the time (before you could burn CDs yourself). It has really good songs on it and it's the only favor I ever kept. That's why we are doing CD favors also. FH and I were talking about when that wedding was, so I looked at the case and it was in 1998! I knew it was a while ago because she has like 4 kids now!! But we kept it since then and still listen to it!

Oh good because we are doing that and it will be more personal because my FH is playing the piano for the songs. I liked the Mikasa wine stopper I got from actually a wedding my sister went to and gave to us because I use it all the time and the donation at my cousin's wedding was the most thoughtful.
