I know a lot of 07ers have all our vendors booked now, so throughout the whole process, which vendor was the hardest to book and why?
I'm not 100% done yet, but I definitely vote limos. I called sooooo many companies, went to see a handful, and I just got a bad feeling from so many of them. There was not ONE single company that had the car that I want (a rolls and a 14 pass lincoln) AND a salesperson/owner that I liked!
I was skunked by Coachman (offered 1 price, changed that offer, claiming the guy that gave me the price wasn't authorized to do so).
I was put on by another guy in New Hyde Park - the woman that answers the phone told me that a specific car would be there for me to view at the time of my appointment...it took me AN HOUR to get there....we have to walk a few blocks to a dark cramped garage to view the cars, and what do you know, the cars I wanted to see were not there. He offered to me a dinged up Caddy, and a Lincoln that smelled like vomit instead. GROSS! I still wanted to see the cars, but lo and behold, they 'didn't have them' the whole following week. He called me yesterday to tell me that he *MIGHT* have them next week if I want to drive an hour out of my way to see them again. pffffffft! Honestly, the guy was a nice guy, but office was a filthy chimney. I have a severe smoke allergy, and the owner didn't even offer to ask his receptionist to stop smoking! Soooooo inconsiderate. I don't know how a businessman expects to sucessfully sell his product when he can WRITE THE NAME OF THE BUSINESS IN THE DUST ON HIS DESK. ew ew ew!
A guy from Lynbrook told me that he'd bring the Rolls to ME, because he had a wedding in the area - I waited at our designated meeting spot for 45 minutes past our meeting time, but he never showed, never called, nothing.
I called all of the LIW vendors, and the 'bigger names' were soooo expensive - I'm talking DOUBLE what I should've been offered. To me, ITS JUST TRANSPORTATION! I don't need the fancy stuff! (I used to work for a limo company, I know what they should go for.)
I had a bad experience with Manny's attitude at a bridal event several months ago, so I had ruled Royalty out entirely. A few weeks ago, I ended up calling them again, this time speaking with Joe. Joe was very nice, very fair in his pricing, and the car I wanted (1958 rolls) was in good shape and didn't smell like vomit. woohoo! I booked with Royalty.
......and my fingers are crossed!!!!

Re: What was the hardest vendor to book?
congrats on booking Royalty!! I went with them too!
For me, booking photo/video was the hardest, but that's b/c I made myself crazy and went to see like 12!!! I actually felt like the hall was more of a no brainer for us than photo/video. I haven't booked DJ yet, so that might be the next difficult choice!!!
Joe is great! I booked Royalty too. You won't be disappointed.
I have to say I didn't have a problem booking anyone. Everyone I met with I got a good feeling about. I'm lucky bc everything went pretty well............so far!
althought I did change halls midpoint but even that wasn't messy

Re: What was the hardest vendor to book?
I had no problems booking with anyone. Every vendor and potential venor I met with was wonderful. But the photo/video was the hardest. Simply because the DJ is just the day, the limo is just the day, the flowers will eventually die, but photos/videos is what lasts a lifetime.
We are so confident though with our choice of Bob from Velvet Studio!

Re: What was the hardest vendor to book?
Photo was definitely the toughest one with out a doubt for me. We visited alot of the popular ones (except Duet) and only 2 really made me say WOW and we booked George from Right Angle. I felt so comfortable and at ease with him from the very beginnning and thats one thing I felt was important in a photographer. I love his personalities and just the way he described the way he liked to work was what sold me. And I am excited!!!!!

Re: What was the hardest vendor to book?
Fh and I really didn't have too much difficulty wih our vendors, but booking photo/video caused a lot of stress!
My sister had used Velvet and I really liked them, but we still wanted to look around. I think when we first got engaged we wanted to do it all on our own and not use the same vendors as my sister had used. Well we met with one company who is rather popular and we were totally turned off by their lack of professionalism and their inability to work with us and really sell us their work. We me with one other company and I liked their work, but their packages were so strange and in order to get what we wanted we would have to add so much on that it wasn't really worth it. Yes, their package prices were cheaper but after getting everything we wanted, it wasn't anything spectacular.
Finally we met with Velvet and Bob was great. I had gone to the original meeting with Bob with my sister and her DH. He was so sweet and treated us like family and worked with us so we could get the package we wanted with the price we wanted. Plus, their quality of work is amazing!! We are so happy that we went with them.

Re: What was the hardest vendor to book?
well i always wanted to get married at my hall since it opened in my neighborhood about 20 years ago when i was 5. I wanted to check alot of other places just to see what else was out there. FH and I went to about 7 other halls and we were like not liking what we saw at all! so when we finally went to look at our hall (we saved it for last) we were blown away.

Re: What was the hardest vendor to book?
Ours was the reception venue, since it's a destination wedding it made that choice very difficult, sight-unseen. Plus we were all over the place about where...We went from St. Thomas to Florida and finally decided on Vegas.

Re: What was the hardest vendor to book?
Photo photo photo!!! I wanted some kick@ss memories of the wedding and Im booking a photographer from a distance.
A few photogs sent me a CD, one sent me one that looked trampled on, it had boot marks on the paper cover, and the pics on there were totally unedited.. the brides eyes were CLOSED in half of them. GREAT sales technique.
I went with 12th night because they were GREAT about getting DVDs out to me to view!

Re: What was the hardest vendor to book?
Well...I don't think I really mulled over any one vendor...which I might be regretting. I made quick decisions... I basically followed the reviews and feedback from this site and visisted those vendors, and chose the ones I felt most comfortable with personally. But there's one vendor I'm slightly worried about...not that it won't be GREAT...but it might not be what I envisioned. I really wanted someone else and they were booked. That was my biggest disappointment in the whole process. Ugh I hope I made the right decision! It was like I was in a big hurry when I really should have taken my time...it was just so difficult planning from out of state. There were a bunch of vendors I simply couldn't meet with because I was really only avaialble on weekends...so that made it more difficult too!
Sorry for the vent...the doubts are creeping in...

Honeymoon believe it or not! We didn't know where to stay - what Island - what TA to use.

Re: What was the hardest vendor to book?
Photo b/c I had some bad experiences but then I found Gary so that was a lifesaver.
The next hardest one was Honeymoon- still haven't booked it yet b/c I'm so undecided about Hawaii (where to stay, what Islands, how long, etc etc) and I keep second guessing myself.
The easiest was the band- saw them, booked, done and I have NO second thoughts, doubts or worries!! Another easy one was Christine (DOC) just b/c as soon as I met with her I was like wow- she rocks!
