These are great - I think I've got you guys beat though!! I went on a date with a guy that I met at Mulcahey's. Ugh he was SUCH a showoff - he was really cute - but short - and I think he was trying to compensate - all I heard on the date was 'I went to Cornell, I'm a stockbroker, I make so much $$, look at my Mercedes convertible, etc.' So we drive all the way up to Great Neck (i'm in Long Beach) so we are trying to make conversation and apparently I interrupted him at one point because he flipped out screaming at me!!! I am mentally trying to think of how much $$ I would need to get a cab home - we go get something to eat and go see a movie and he leaves the movie like four times to go bathroom - mind you - he wasnt drinking anything - afterwards my friends said he was prob snorting cocaine - because of how many times he left and they way he was acting! Alternates in the car home between screaming at me and telling me how one day we'll look back on this date and laugh and tell our kids all about it! And then stops at a gas station to buy me a cheezy rose, and candy to 'make up' for his behavior!!!

I met a guy online in a chat room becauase we went to the same college. It was over the summer and he picked me up. He was not from around here - I have to give him that- but he took me to the mall to the food court for lunch. Then he decided he wanted to see his grandparents graves (they are buried in LI) since he didn't get to go there often. He started to cry once we were there - it was SO awkward. I mean I felt bad but what????
Meredith, how awful!!! He sounds like he may have had some issues!! What guy takes a girl (who he is meeting for the first time no less) to a graveyard???? I have never heard of such a thing!!

I ALSO went out with a guy I met online...the first red flag should have been that I had to drive to HIS house. So I get there and he is a total hottie, better looking than his pic (for a change) so I change my tune. I find out we're going to Jillian's but we have to stop on the way to pick up his drycleaning. We get to Jillians and he walks straight to the games, no offer to get something to eat or drink....just plucks out his Jillians card and starts shooting hoops and finally offers for me to take a shot. I get bored so I go by myself to get a drink and when I come back, he's made a friend and they're having a shoot-out while I'm standing there with this dude's GF....a fun date if we were 17!!

Here is a good one: there was this guy I worked with. we liked each other and decided to go out together. So I was all excited he was coming to pick me up and we go out together. Well he showed up... with 2 friends! So I was PO'd from the beginning. So we go to the diner.. just the 4 of us... and when the bill comes, he looks to me and was like, oh I don't have cash can you spot me? So I paid for his portion of dinner. THEN as we were leaving, in the Diner near our house they have those 'business card trees' where you can leave b.cards if you have a business you want to promote. He's like 'OH yeah! I have to put these in' and he puts in his business cards that are for sketch drawings! He has a sketch drawing business I couldn't stop laughing. So then we decided that we'd go play pool. So I went along, even though I HATE pool. So me just being me I cheated and shoved some balls in the pocket just to mess around and make it fun. WELLLLLLLL. Did I get reemed out!! He was SOOOO serious and couldn't believe I messed up his game! THEN After that he decided that the FOUR of us should go back and rent a movie. So we pull up to Movieland and he turns to me and says 'OH yeah!!! Don't you have a friend that works here? Can you get us a movie for free?' I LOOOOOOOOSSSSST IT!!! I stormed out of the car. I said get your own F'n MOVIE!! My friend in Movieland took his break to drive me home. UUUUUGGGGGGH! What a JERK! I told EVERYONE at work what he did to me!!!

I met a lady through a friend.. who's now a former friend. We met one night.. didn't talk too much.. I spent the night talking to this woman who was separated from her husband (and that leads to another story.. but I'm not giong into that now.. LOL). So.. I met the first girl again.. we talk more. Met her again.. even more talking.. I start to email her.. get her phone number and we start getting to know each other more. She seems OK.
So I say.. how about we grab dinner one night? You and me. (I was younger and not very bright when it came to dating so I asked her to go to Playwrights in the city. LOL) I remember telling her .. the one on 8th avenue.
There are two playwrights in the city. Very close to each other too.
OK.. I tell her.. we'll meet at 5. Well, all of a sudden it 5:45... and here she comes. I'm dressed in a collared shirt and tie. She's in sweats.. and wondering where everyone else is. So I give her the single rose I bought her in a very kinda of pathetic manner.. LOL
It was a very uncomfortable dinner.
When she said she had to get home to catch a cab, I said I'll get one for you. Ran to the corner and actuallu got her one in like20 seconds. I then added.. 'I'll call you.'
That's obligatory... I guess.. LOL

I met this guy through some friends. I had gotten all dressed up one night, because we were going to a nice restaurant. I had gotten brand new open toe shoes (had gotten a pedicure and everything), and was all excited about wearing them. He came to the door to get me, and when he looked down at my shoes, he said, 'I DETEST feet. You MUST go and change your shoes right NOW. We are not going anywhere until you do.' I just stared at him. So I said, 'I guess we aren't going anywhere.'
Needless to say, we never went out again.

Which to choose........... It could be the blind date who picked me up to go to the movies. We got to Douglaston parking lot & he jumped on me. He actually thought we were going to have sex!! I told him to get the hell off me & drive me home. I was out of my house for all of 15 min. But, I made my Mother VERY proud that day!!!
Or it could be a friend of a friend who I went on a decent date w/ & he said I'd love to see you again. Do you want to go out for dinner tomorrow night. I said sure. We go to a diner & he bitched the whole time about how I'm costing him alot of money..blah blah blah. I ended up paying my own way. LOSER!! He kept calling me but my family made excuses..So he showed up to my house. He asked if I was home & my Mother said no & she doesn't have money to go out w/ you anymore & then she slammed the door on him!!!

Okay, I met this guy through the personals/internet during my break up with my husband (at the time fiance) that lasted six months. He seemed very nice; an engineer living in Huntington Harbor, had a 'restored' 1969 firebird, etc. He said he had an apartment, blah, blah blah. So we chatted for a short while, exchanged photos, the works. We plan a date. He tells me that I will have to pick him up because his truck is on location at one of his business destinations and that the 'restored' firebird is not running. Red flags should have gone down, but I was naive, very much down, and was working on some self esteem issues (due to the breakoff of my engagement). I head to his 'house'. Sure enough, the location was correct and the house was HUUUGGE but the house was owned by his parents and he lived in a studio off the side of the house. His so-called restored car was a work in progress and the engine was pulled and the car was sitting/rotting on the side of the house. I sighed in disappointment but since I was there, I thought I should try to make the best of the evening. We headed for a restaurant in Huntington. Dinner was fine, conversation alright. Since it was a nice night, he asked if I didn't mind taking a ride up to Northport/Centerport (can't remember where, just remember quaint little town with a pier). As we're heading up towards the town (on a windy road) we pass some parked cars. I just asked (out of curiosity) if there was something good going on, so he turns to me and was like 'Whoah, whoah, settle down. There's plenty of time for THAT'. Uh, yeah, whatever. We get to town and head for a pub. Uuuh, don't you just know he forgot his ID and we couldn't get into the pub. It figures. He suggests we take a walk through town and head for the piers. Fine enough. As we're walking, we pass an antiques shop that had a whole 'bridal themed' window with dolls and the most beautiful antique wedding gown I've ever seen. I comment on how beautiful it is, and he turns and says 'Why don't you come back and get it, since you're making a habit of collecting wedding gowns (he knew about my recent breakup and a past broken engagement of many, many years earlier)'. What a tool! I was getting pissed (I should have left) but we kept walking. There was fish swimming around the docks and I fed them with some leftovers I had with me. We sit on a bench and he starts coming on to me; trying to get me to hold his hand, kiss him, etc.. I was like 'I'm not down with this right now, okay? Too soon'. So he gets all huffy and is like 'Why'd you bother wasting my time if you were going to let the ghost of your past fiance get in the way of my needs?'. I was like 'That's it, I'm taking you home a-hole!'. I took him home, dropped his *** off and peeled rubber out of there. Can you believe this jerk kept calling, etc. (I never returned his calls)? He even sent me a letter saying that if I wasn't going to make a permanent committment to him, he was going to move on to greener pastures. Don't let the door hit you on the way out jackass.....

she was totally 'in-like' with this guy that my dad worked with. My dad thought they would be great together and he set them up. We were all excited for them, we really thought they would be the perfect couple.
Well, they decided to go to a movie and then to dinner. He picked her up and as they are driving on the LIE, he rips a loud a$$ fart that stunk!! My friend did not know what to do! She rolled down the window and he was like 'oops sorry!' needless to say the rest of the night was totally awkward and I had to lie to my dad when he asked how their date was...I just told Oh it wasnt meant to be LOL

My Best friend (moh) was dating this guy from queens. He didnt have a car so she would always have to drive to him. He never would come here. He said he lost his job but he always took her to these amazing restaurants in the city. They cost a lot of money but he had no job? Whatever maybe he just saved a lot. Well picture it NYC march 17 2002. We all decided to go to the city for the parade and then we would go out to bars and get trashed. My FH and I walked to the train station so we didn't have to drive and everything.
After the parade we are all starving... We decide we will goto Jekyll and Hyde. We sit down and the her boyfriend asks the waiter 'can we get seperate checks' My FH and I burst out laughing but whatever that was fine. My best friend Orders a drink they brink her the wrong drink. I decide I will drink it. She got the right drink anyway. The waiter brings the check and her boyfriend says to the waiter 'You can put the drink on their bill' So I freak im like dude I have the 8.00 for the stupid drink besides that they screwed it up... The waiter gives him the strangest look and says 'Im not going to charge anyone for it' Then we go down to Chelsea piers. Lets go bowling ' Nope that cost to much money' He says. Hey there a pool table lets play. It was the kind where you pay like 1.00 for the balls. Well this kid has this Great Idea. He says 'When the ball is about to go in the pocket put your hand there and catch it. Then we can play as many games as we want' I almost died. Um No. I will pay the money for you to play another game. Then we are trying to find somewhere to go and drink..... He suggest this bar. We get a drink and its 8.00. Now thats fine if you are at fridays but.... If im going to a bar there is no way in hel$ im paying 8.00 a drink. We leave there and they decide they are going to leave. Good Ridence. My FH and I went to Penn Station. Went to Charlie O's and got Trashed. Jumped on the train and had a great night. Thank GOD she broke up with him Shortly after that, I couldn't figure him out he was so Cheap but bought her to such nice Expensive places.
