What was your STD wording and what info did you include?
And who did you send STDs to?
I am just going insane right now.
And if you did magnets, did you include a card? What did you put on the card vs. the magnet? Where did you order from?

We sent save the dates (Magnets) to everyone from out of town, all family, and close friends. We did NOT send to any co-workers or new friends...they might not be around when invitations go out. For out of town guests we made packets of info on area hotels, rental cars, airports, airlines, and things to do in the area. Everyone got a letter from us. It looked very cute, and was all printed on nice textured paper. Here is our letter :
Hi everyone! No doubt you have already heard our big news- - We are Getting Married!!! And now, not only have we decided to take the plunge, but we have decided When, and Where to hold the festivities. So mark your calendars because the big day is:
October 21, 2006
Plans are still under way but so far we know the wedding will take place at Our Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Roman Catholic Church Southampton, NY, and will be followed with a reception at Atlantica at the Bath and Tennis Hotel, West Hampton Beach.
We hope you can all join us on this special day!

Where did you block hotels rooms for guests? I'm so divided on this. The nicer hotels seem to be further out, but my ceremony is in queens for now

First we sent out Announcements that said: Cindy XX and Kevin YY are proud to annouce...we're engaged!! With our pic. Then it said 'A June 10, 2006 wedding is being planned.' We sent this out on 8.5'x11' paper and just sent it in a regular envelope to all of our definite invitees. This was as soon as we booked our date, about a year ago.
Then, this past December we sent out Xmas cards and inside we included magnets that said : Cindy XX and Kevin YY June 10, 2006 Please visit our website at: www.liweddings.com/weddings/cindyandkevin/ Formal Invitation to Follow

We did magnets that we designed ourselves (after shamelessly copying an idea from another LIW bride). I bought blank cards w/ envelopes from AC Moore. On the front I printed 'Here is a magnet for you to post, to remember the day we will treasure most'. I attached the magnet to the inside of the card with rubber cement. When you lifted the magnet up it said 'Visit us on the web at' with the web address underneath that sentence.
THE STD itself included our pic, and said Save the Date for D&J's wedding, Sunday blah, blah.
ETA: I only sent them to OOT guests that I absolutely positively want at my wedding, and then a few locals for political (family) reasons.

We did a magnet from Ebay and we just bought small pretty enveolpes at office max and mailed them out. We will send hotel info with the invites.

I like that idea! I bought snowflake stationary from Staples and we were going to send out a flier but, a letter might work better. We have so many rooms blocked so I want people to get a move on with that!

We did magnets. I ordered them from Creative Montage (click for site . I made the cards, just bought printable perforated postcards from office supply store and printed using Print Shop. I also enclosed info I was given by the hotel where we blocked rooms, just with basic hotel info, not direction card.
