What was your turning point/rockbottom??

What was your turning point/rockbottom??

I know for a lot of us - because of the situation we're all in, it's because we're getting married. But besides that, what was your point that you said I need to change my diet, body, etc. I started about 3-4 weeks ago just because I have put on a decent amount of weight since my wedding in August. I do have to say though that on Friday night we were at my aunt and uncle's house and they showed us the DVD from my cousin's Bat Mitzvah in December. I know the camera adds weight, but I was truly horrified at how I looked and it was painful for me to watch. If I hadn't already started dieting, that would have been my turning point. I just have to remember that when I want to cheat now!
What was your point?

My 'fat' jeans are tight and when I gain it tends to go to my chest, so I can't button a lot of my shirts without getting that 'gap.'

I realized my trip to St. Lucia was coming up and that I was 15 lbs. heavier than the last time I went! It made me sick!

When I look at pictures now and I see how heavy I am compared to the way I was. Also, the fact that I cant shop in my favorite stores anymore because they dont carry my size. I also think the worst was when my stepdaughter slipped by telling me that she thought she saw my FH and I in a restaurant because the guy was tall and skinny just like dad and the woman was fat(but she caught herself before she got the whole word out)like you

This would be my turning point too!! Once my 'fat' jeans and pants (which were soooo huge on me, pre-wedding) started getting really snug last month.. well I knew I just had to stop the insanity and try to get back on track. Not to mention I just see reflections of myself or myself in pictures and I'm just so disappointed and disgusted in how I look, esp. when comparing those images to how I looked on my honeymoon only 8 short months ago And to think I wasn't even at my 'skinniest' on my honeymoon!!!

So I have been better the past few weeks (eating wise).. cutting out all junk food again, making healthier choices, definitely watchin my portions ... but I still haven't been back to the gym, which I know is KEY to me losing..

I seriously need to drop this weight because I refuse to buy a completely new (Fat) wardrobe!!

This quote and the one that my wedding wasn't enough to motivate me more than it did. I am disgusted w/ myself and I even emailed all my friends, some family, AND my DH, and put my 'diet' in a memo... This all happened today when i put my favorite sweater from Ann Taylor on, which was at the cleaners and it is tight!!! I am so upset! I haven't worn it since last winter....

for me, it was totally trying on size 16 wedding gowns...i know sizes run high but that meant i was a 14 and i used to be a 7/8 before i went away to college 5 years ago....i want to at least be at a healthy 12 if not 10 again
