What were the best...

The best things are things that everyone can use, or are specific to the person you're giving it to (ie not the same gift for 5 girls with totally different tastes). I gave everyone black leather Coach wristlets and all of them liked it because 1. it's black, it matches everything and can be used for both fancy and casual stuff 2. it's Coach 3. some of the girls left their own wristlets/small purses at home so they were set.

When I gave gifts to my readers I gave them each a basket with things I thought they would appreciate (again, not all the same stuff). DH's sister got a 'relax' themed gift because she's always stressed out about money, her mother, life. So it had lotions, bubble bath, slippers, a bottle of wine, etc. And one of my friends got a lot of books about writing and a journal because she is a fiction writer. Whenever you get a gift that other people like (and not just you like) then you know people will use and appreciate it.

my friend got us all gold neckalces from Colombia and then got each of us a charm that represented us. I got a dolphin.

That's really special. I only have 4 BM so it would be easy to personalize a gift for each of them... I never thought of doing that. they each have different tastes and interests, too..... great tip! :)

The MOB paid for our dresses because they wanted Vera Wang. I just paid alterations.
That was 1994.
I still have the dress.
It fits me great and I wear it to weddings.
People love it.
I almost sold it to put $$ towards my dress but couldn't part with it.
It's my black tie dress.

I'm giving LL Bean totes, monogrammed towels, wine, flip flops and paying for makeup.
For MOH (2) I got Dogeared necklaces, the pearls of friendship and the sisters one.

As a BM, I've received salon gift cards, restaurant gift cards, Origins products, jewelry (don't wear any of it).
