We're having a tough time thinking of things for people to throw (or whatever) when we walk out of the church right after getting married. I would be happy with just clapping but FH really wants things to be thrown at us LOL. We're getting married at St Joe's in Babylon and I'm not sure what they actually allow, I'm hearing they're pretty strict. Any ideas of different things we could do?
FH doesn't like the bubbles idea and I've seen them mess up a dress anyway, so that one is out. What else is there?

I know you asked about something to throw so im a big no help but were having noisemakers, the horns you blow at new years eve. i know a lot of girls on here are having the same issue because their church is strict. sorry

Well rice is not allowed any more, because birds where eating it and they where dying, You can do rose petals have your guest take a hand ful as they walk out of the chruch and then they can throw it , but check with your chruch mine does not allow it, because they will have noone to clean it up!!

Most Churches do not allow bird seed because if it's not cleaned up, it will grow weeds. I chose not to use bubbles because it's sticky and will mess up the gown BUT instead we bought heart shaped biodegradable rice. Once it gets wet, it just dissolves leaving no mess at all. My Church approved it and they're VERY strick. Google 'heart shaped biodegradble rice.' I hope this helps.

check w/ the church, i know for mine nothing at all can be thrown so i am thinking of doing ribbon wands. my co-worker DIY'd hers and they came out really nice!

Thanks everyone! That biodegradable rice idea sounds really cool, I wonder if they'd approve it. I'd love rose petals so I don't have much to pick out of my hair before pics, but I think I heard rose petals is a NO. Will ask him how he feels about wands also.

We're using rose petals. They look so pretty in pictures!
There's no mess. They stay attached to the capsules and then the whole thing gets thrown out. I ordered the samples and fell in love with them. I even had my sisters throw them and then take pictures so we can see how they look and they come out awesome in photographs!

I am using ribbon wands...they won't be thrown at us (hopefully lol), but will look really cool in pics. I have pics in my album.
