What will you/do you and FH disagree on the most?

Original post by LovelyL

For us, I think it will be sleep. I know that sounds funny, but I need a decent amount of sleep to function properly, and he likes to stay up really late.

I can so relate to a lot of you!

Fh is really really neat, but has yet to actually use a cleaning product. I leave a pile of clothes by the end of the work week, but love cleaning products. This sometimes doesn't work out so well either way

He's much better with saving. I like shopping. Hmmm.... $$ issues to come..

Mostly $$.... But we've been living together for 4 years and ironed out the rest.
I wish I had the sleep issue... He works overnights I work 10am-6. Only get 2 nights a week together.

Re: What will you/do you and FH disagree on the most?

Just read this in my e-mail!

Dear Prudie,
I am a longtime fan and now I find myself requiring your advice. I am madly in love with my boyfriend of two years. We've lived together for about seven months now. The problem is he is the worst housekeeper known to man. He will walk in the front door and distribute his work clothes like bread crumbs through the house. He thinks that the best way to wash dishes is rinsing them for a few seconds under cold water. His idea of 'cleaning up' is to hide things … in closets, in locked rooms, on top of the fridge. His newest habit is grabbing a clean towel out of the cabinet, even if there's a clean one hanging on the towel rack. I love my man, but I am burned out being the only one to clean the house. Whenever I point out his shortcomings in the cleaning department, he gets huffy and pouts. Usually after the second or third time I tell him something, I'm forced to do it myself. Short of sitting him down like a pouting 3-year-old and showing him how to clean, what's the best way to deal with this? Hiring a housekeeper is completely out of the financial question.

—Sick of playing the Cleaning Lady

Dear Sick,
Given the fact that you're in a two-year relationship with a swell guy, Prudie would advise you to pick your battles. Because the beloved is an inveterate slob and you've had no luck getting him to pitch in around the house, there are really only two options open to you. One is to sit him down … not like a 3-year-old, but like a partner to whom you're making a plea for help. Tell him you feel like the maid and that's not the way you want to feel. Lessons are not required to remember to take your clothes off in one place, use hot water instead of cold, or learn that the top of the fridge is not the proper place for whatever he's putting up there—merely a serious request. The other alternative is what Prudie's mother taught her: It is sometimes easier to pick up the guy's socks than to make continual 'requests.' Given that he is slothful and chaotic around the house (and may also have retro ideas about men and women), it might be easier on you to bear in mind what a great guy you have while you pick up his socks. Don't ask Prudie how she knows this.

—Prudie, efficiently

He watches baseball 24 hrs a day and when he is not watching the METS play he is online talking with MET fans - or he is playing baseball on his PS2 -

I dream about the stupid METS!

Sounds like my guy... He talks to me in his sleep about the Mets- he'll shake my arm and WAKE ME UP talking about the effing team! And he is just sleeptalking!

OK it's a toss up.. He cannot fall asleep without the TV being on and I can't stay asleep without it being dark and quiet (hmm can we say tons of fights?? ) ,. The second, well he loves to spend money on frivoulous things.. I love to save. More fighting. But hey opposites attract

Ours is sorta similar too. He likes to watch TV before he goes to bed and sometimes he leaves it on all night. The buzz from the TV usually wakes me up at about 2 or 3am, so it drives me insane.

I have the same problem diva bride....

Oh we also disagree about socks. I say seperate and put them in the hamper. He bundles them up and they never wash correctly. His arguement is he doesnt want his socks being stolen by the Sock Knomes, but my arguement is that they dont get cleaned properly and its ok for a few socks to be sacrificied to please the laundry monster.

The sleep thing is an issue too--I need lots of it, he only needs a little and doesn't understand when I say 'goodnight' that means I'm DONE talking! The other big thing is that I have a lot of clutter--its not trash, just stuff I don't have room to put away. He doesn't have clutter, but won't throw TRASH away in the garbage...he puts THAT on the floor and it freaks me out. At least my stuff isn't gross....

it seem like everything lately. from money to work. the short of everything is hes paid for everything exept my dress and the reception. he fights about it all the time. i pay for both cells, home phone, cable, ballys, food, my car payment and insurance and my credit cards which he hates. he pays for half of the morgage$ 600, his car payments and insurance, and his credit crads. hes good with money he saves and i dont so i told him anything we get goes back into the savings. makes sense right. my bp. he says my moh has no money and nobody else does, and that my mom is butting her head into everything about it. he has to know when it is so he can talk to my supervisor and get the day off and other reasons that i dont have the time for. and the work situation. we work together. and he wants me to quit. he said hes sick and tired of the b/s that happens to him supposedly b/c of me. i met him there and i make alot of money. i cant get another job making the same. and he doesnt understand that. he says i choose money over him when i dont see it that way. and he cant have the hours he want b/c of mine.
