I started loestrin 24 the first day i started getting my period... Its been over a week!!! and I still have my period. I am thinking of just stopping it completely bc I get these terrible, migraine like headaches, even after I eat, etc... and I have crazy bipolar lol mood swings. Will I get my period for another week if I stop taking it? I took it to help me with breakouts esp close to my wedding and I am getting more breakouts advice please ladiesssss

omg get off of that ASAP!!!!!! I was a psycho on that and i had migraines that would keep me in bed with the blankets over my head not able to see light for 2 days!!! I hated loestrin

Ugh I hated Loestrin too! I stopped midway through a pack...I got my period and was done! Good luck!

i was horribleee on it, would miss periods and freak out
however, when i went off the next time i got my period it lasted for 18 days..not even joking

So strange. I have been on loestrin for years and love it. I am only emotional 1 day a month, and my period is super light.

same, except i don't get a period at all.
honestly i think everyone is different - there's no way to predict what your period will do when you stop taking it.

I stopped Loestrin months ago and periods are still crazy!!! After I stopped it I had a lot of spotting and my periods were all over the place. Even when I first started it I had a lot of breakthrough bleeding for a couple weeks at a time.
Worst BCP I ever took!

call your doctor... get on another pill... i do not remember the one that I am on but it is helping with my acne I will FM it when I get home.. it is some kind of generic kind

I'll give my pharmaceutical opinion on this (I sold hormone therapy)...
Don't stop it midway through the cycle. Finish out the month. It will really throw your hormones off if you suddenly stop, which can lead to breakouts even worse, and can give you horrible cramps and even worse migraines. It is normal that your period can last a while in the begining while your hormones are regulating. Especially with the extra estrogen that you are taking into your body. Stick it out for the month, and if it is really unbearable, talk to your doctor before just stopping in the middle. Hope this helps...good luck!

But thats the thing- I cant! I get such bad migraines that it lasts until the next day- where I can function and have to take like 4-5 advils... I dont mind it making me super cranky- but the migraines are the worst! cant I take anything else for breakouts and hormone control to regulate it ?

I would go to the doctor IMMEDIATELY! you might be like me and not be able to be on BC. I had similar problems when I was on yasmin 28. I got migraines, cramps, weird periods and Kidney problems. and I went on it for the first of those 3 problems.... I ended up finding out that some women just can't be on BC because of hormone levels.
how long have you been on it? I was for about a year before any problems started. I would def go to the doctor or at least call them and ask what to do.

Then definately go to the doctor asap...He might have you ween off of it (like take one every other day) for a few days before stopping cold turkey, or since you haven't been on it long just tell you to stop taking it all together immediately. Not something you want to mess with though... Sorry you are going through this...

im not sure what will happen as far as your period goes but I would def stop right away because of how you are feeling. I used loestrin for a year and all of a sudden stopped getting my period all together so I switched. My friend who was also on the same pill got migraines allll the time.
