what would LIW brides do?

hey ladies,

i was wondering what your thoughts are on a sunday wedding at twilight (approx 4 pm but essentially we can make our own time) vs evening (6-12).

right now FH and I are torn for a few reasons

1) cost - the price goes up $15 pp for twilight (we are having approx 125-150 guests so $1875-$2250 more)

2) photography - we are planning on taking photos at a garden before the ceremony. in the august heat, we thought possibly taking photos at 4 pm might be better than 2 pm for the earlier start.

3) guests leaving - we are concerned with either option, but especially sunday night that guests will leave. we are Jewish and can't have a friday or saturday night in the summer and don't want a day wedding.

anyway, what would LIW do? would you go to a sunday evening wedding? which time slot do you prefer and why? TIA!!

I think I would do twilight, since most people have to get to work on Sunday. If you pay till 12, most people will leave by 10 or 11 anyway, and you will have paid extra for nothing

Are you doing it at the RH?

I hate Sunday weddings because I have to take off the next day, however I would rather go to one at night than in the afternoon...I just feel like the vibe at afternoon weddings is a little more laid back, but of course it depends on the crowd and the mood.

I am having a Sunday twilight wedding next July. Our invite will say 3pm, the ceremony is at 3:30pm, cocktail is 4:00 - 5:30pm, and reception 5:30pm - 9:30pm.

If you use these hours, your pics will be daytime in the heat (yes, it may suck lol, I know) but your guests hopefully WILL stay til the end. If someone travels in from OOT, they likely are taking Monday off anyway.

We were deciding btwn a Friday eve wedding and a Sunday Twilight wedding. FH has alot of guests invited from his job, so we felt Sunday was better then Fri. night.
Our cocktail hour starts at 5 and reception is from 6-10pm. We figured that way guests should be home by 11 if they stay the whole time, and can still go to work the next day if they want.
I think for a Sunday the twilight hours work best. Otherwise I think alot of ppl will leave early.
