There is a demetrios dress (from last years collection) that I love. I tried it on and everything. Here's my dilemma.....My wedding is not til 7/06. I'm afraid of waiting another year and then trying to get this dress only to find out that it is discontinued. I got a great price quote from netbride for this dress. I was thinking of ordering it but not having any alterations done until much closer to the date.
What would you do?

Well if i was you i would get it. Then that would be one less thing that you have to worry about in the end.

I would get it also. My sisters dress was discontinued 1 week after she ordered it. Imagine she waited!!!!! I ordered min 1 year in advance and it cam in 9 months in advance. I am waiting to do the alterations. The only way I would wait is if you plan on losing or gaining a lot of weight.

If you are totally in love with it 110% that its the one I would get it order it bigger and save it. If your not so sure then i would wait since you have plenty of time to shop around or incase you change your mind

I just wanted to also ask you - not to be mean AT ALL b/c I understand I planned my wedding 2 years in advance but when you go to book things how do the vendors talk to you?? i know alot of them didnt take me as serious or laughed or made some kind of comment about how far in advance i was doing everything and it really got to me. do they do the same to you? ( sorry for the vent)

i am in the same situation. my wedding isn't for another 19 months but i found a dress i love and even though i need to lose some weight, i think i'm just going to order it and then get the alterations done later.

Thanks everyone. I feel better now seeing that a lot of you got your dress well in advance.
Soon2beMsZ I haven't had that reaction with the vendors I've met with so far. If anything since they know my FI is in the service they've been 'extra nice' which I appreciate.

Trust me if I get it (which I probably will) I will close my eyes when I pass a bridal store and burn all my Brides magazines. If you hear of a big smoke stack in Queens that'll be me.

If it's what you want and it's the 'ONE' then go for it. You will jsut have to find a place to store it.
You also don't know what will come up. You could always have the dress made if there is ntohing else...
