What Would You Do

What Would You Do

...if your FMIL purchased a white dress to wear to your wedding and reception?

I think i would be really sad and annoyed b/c it shows a lack of respect. I think I'd have my FH talk to her.....hopefully, this WONT happen~

My FMIL has mentioned the color 'cream'...i don't think people outside of NY realize it's considered taboo...perhaps we need to start a marketing campaign about this? haha

I'd be more upset if my mom came out in a hoochie dress! haha...but my mom is NOT like that...thank god!

I actually felt badly for that bride...her mom was crazy, MIL had no clue, and she lost her Daddy

eh. whatever. It's just a dress.

I'd prefer a different color, but I don't think I'd make a big fuss about it.

My grandmother (dad's mom) wore a white dress to my parents' wedding (and my mom was in ivory, so she was whiter than the bride!). My mom didn't care, and they still laugh about it to this day. My grandmother didn't mean anything by it... in fact, she still looks at pictures and remembers it only as a fabulous and beautiful dress that she absolutely loved. A few people may have talked the day of, but at the time it never even occured to my mom to be upset by it.

I think that would be so unfair to do to a bride. Especially since it is such a blatant social No-no. It's the brides day to wear white!

At least if you wear a white dress, find one that has a colored print on it, to break up the white. Honestly I would try to not let it get to me, and even if it did upset me, I wouldn't let it show. Everyone else would all be talking about that person anyway, and how tacky it is.

I would freak out. Not at FMIL but in my own home. Then I would talk to FH and tell him to get the ball rolling on the return line.

Both my Mom and FMIL have asked if I have a specific color I want them to wear or style. All I have said is that it is black tie, so something formal and that no one is to wear white, beige, cream or any shade of them.

They are always, of course not, LOL...

I think that would have to be a bridezilla moment for me. FMIL and I haven't been seeing eye to eye on a lot of things lately and that would just put me over the edge.

I dont think i would care all that much.. I mean people could still def point out who the bride is.
I wouldn't make it an issue.
