My wedding starts at 3pm...BUT my family is Puerto Rican...and sorry to be sterotypical but they are late to everything ...so should I put 2:30pm on the invite..to ensure that they will be there by 3pm? The thing is I think my invite will look nicer if it reads '....3 o'clock in the afternoon...versus....2:30 in the afternoon...I love the 'o-clock' part...anyway, what r u girls planning to do?

Re: What would you do?
I am putting 1/2 hr early on my invites just in case people are coming late (and I know they will).

Re: What would you do?
I don't know about the o'clock thing but I would def. make it time a half hour earlier if you think they'll be late. You'd rather them sit there for a half hour waiting than miss you walking down the aisle!

Re: What would you do?
If you go with 2:30 but still want the 'o'clock' in there you can write.........
'At half past two o'clock in the afternoon'
That's how ours is worded and it's looks great!

Re: What would you do?
if you want the '3 o'clock' maybe you can add something like:
'ceremony will start promptly at 3 o'clock...'
or something like that. then maybe lock the doors to the church at 3? heh, jk! but that's something i would do! i hate when people are late!

Re: What would you do?
I have the same problem!
My ceremony is at three. I am always on time, so of course, i put 'at three o'clock' on the invites.
My colleague just told me that since I put three o'clock on the invite, my ceremony should start at 3:30.
That would totally mess up my careful planning for pictures etc.
Am I wrong to think that if an invites ays marriage vows will be exchanged at three o'clock in the afternoon, that people should show up at 2:45?
Anyway, now i have these invites with three o'clock and I don't know what to do...

Yeah- I know what you mean, I'm Puerto Rican also, FH is Caribbean so I know NO ONE will be on time. Plus my ceremony is @ 5pm on a FRIDAY!! RUSH HOUR!! So I will be putting an earlier time on my invites!

You are absolutely right. This angers me..because its a freaking wedding! You should be there at least 15mins before what the invite says...if anything, they should give them some extra time in case of traffic or getting lost...grr...people get me so ... i suppose I'll have to put 2:30

Re: What would you do?
Just spread the WORD to family and friends as it gets closer to be there EARLY due to parking or something.....

Re: What would you do?
I recommend putting 'half past 2'
You never put the exact time on a wedding invitation anyway.....you always 'call it' for a half an hour or hour before the actual time.
Funerals are the only services that ever start sharp on time.
