This week while I was in Vegas for work, there was a huge tradeshow going on in the convention center. My old clients attend this tradeshow and if I was still with my old company, I would have been there too. (My current job has nothing to do with this tradeshow.) I still keep in touch with some old clients and met up with one for dinner and drinks. He told me that my old manager (someone I despise) was there and why he was there. This old manager of mine, let's call him Todd, left my old company about 6 months ago. Todd was at this tradeshow looking for new business for his new company. Now when anyone was hired for my old company we signed 'non-competes' meaning we couldn't go to a competing firm or can't take clients with us if we left for a year. Well Todd is waiting for his non-compete to run out so he can take some of my old company's clients. I have no ties to my old company, but I despise Todd so much that I just want to call my old boss and tell her just so her lawyer scare him. I just know that Todd will tell this old client what happened and it will come back to me. My friend and I are trying to scheme up a plan so please help me figure out what to do!

You'll gain nothing from calling your old company. You'd be doing it just to spite Todd right? No gain to you? I'd just let it go.
If your old company is taking care of their clients, why would they want to leave anyway, you know?

We thought of that but the person we would tell is a chicken and she wouldn't lie. We thought she could say she saw Todd there but we know she'll chicken out.

That's a good point. Todd did a lot of really bad things though so I like to think of it as karma biting him in the @ss! I probably won't do anything but this is such an opportune time!
