What would you do?

What would you do?

So our RSVP date is tomorrow. I'm still missing over 100 RSVPs but I'm not so worried about that now.

FH just called me to say he wants to invite 3 more couples!!! I told him I only have 4 more invitations and our RSVP date is tomorrow. He said 'don't worry about it.' Should I care? Should I put a note in with the invitations? They're his friends and frankly I'm past the point of caring right now, but still don't want to be embarrassed.

What would you girls do?

Personally, I would probably smack FH. I remember you saying that he's been doing this all along, inviting more and more people...but if you gave him a cutoff to invite more people by, and now 6 more people miraculously materialized, I'd probably say tough. Myself, I'm on FH hard this week and he has until Monday to decide if he's inviting more people and get their addresses, or forever hold his peace, because I'm not sending out invites with an 11/1 rsvp date much past 1 months notice.

I've told him that several times! He's killing me - I told him today this is absolutely it! Oh and he called me to tell me he's inviting them and he'll get me the addresses!

I am just so embarrassed about the date. How can I mail out invitations on 9/30 with a 10/1 RSVP date?

Honestly, our RSVP date was 9/23 and we sent out a few more invites this past weekend (to people we had spoken with previously). Do they know they are late additions? We broached the subject with a few people and explained that we had to invite a lot of family but they wound up not being able to come, so we are thrilled we can invite some people *we* actually want there (instead of our parents). For the people who said they wanted to come, we sent them the invites and they sent back the RSVPs and that was that! They didn't seem offended at all, but excited to be included!

I'm hoping that's the case here. I don't know if he's spoken to them. They are not close friends - more like friends of friends that he feels 'must' be invited. It's not like they were 'B' list or anything - he just forgot about them.

Make FH do it! Seriously you should be done.. tell him if he wants to add more folks. . hand him the invitations, tell him to address them and add a note saying something. . .

We are inviting more people some we could not invite before because our room is capped. My RSVP date is the 7th and we have 93 people that have not RSVP'ed.

I would have FH do it since hes inviting them last minute.. AND I would start calling people ASAP to find out what the deal is with the RSVPs...

My Fh did the same thing. I ran out of invites and he emailed people and we just added them on as guests.

Once you are ready for your final count to the RH, you will have a definite number. it will be ok

I had this come up for a few invites. I handwrote a '1' in front of the RSVP date. So in your case, you'd change 10/1 into 10/11... they're not going to care. I wouldn't worry about it. Just send em and start getting on the horn to all your non responders.

I can't write a '1' in front - it's written out as 'Please respond by the first of October'

I'm going to try to just release the stress of it. They are FH's friends - let him deal with it. I'll put them in the mail, but he's the one who has to claim responsibility.

I was honest with people and said... look you were on my B List, I wanted you there but with a wedding you are dealing with 2 families and all their friends and family members, so its hard. I really want you to come.

I even invited someone on Facebook. They were fine with it. One person even said to my mom... 'I think being on the B-list is an honor. The A-list are the people you have to invite. The B-list are the people you wanted to invite but couldn't.' I thought that was nice. They probably won't care.

I would either put the note in the invite or have FH explain why he invited them so late
