do you really need to have one???? i dunno...if you are getting married in church, then you kind of have to have one. I would probably do something WAY cheap like a BBQ or cocktail party afterwards instead.
It's a really amazing gesture though. I don't think I'd feel comfortable accepting money from anyone. That is so incredibly generous of him though.

How will the FH feel about this? My FH is stubborn and his ego would def say NO w/o a doubt however I dont know the relationship between you and your cousin..
I personally dont like the idea of borrowing $$ from family however if you feel comfortable with it and it will help you and FH .. Go for it !!!!

depends if he's the type of person that will make you feel like you'll owe him for the rest of your life...even after you actually pay him back.
if he's a genuinely nice person, i'd say yes. if he's like some of my family who do things like that just to keep you in their grasps, i'd say no.
either way, it was incredibly nice of him to offer that to you!

I think since it is a loan you can gracously accept it and do something small. It depends how imporant the RD is to you. As long as you are appreciative I don't think it's wrong to accept especially since you will eventually pay it back.

wedding is in april so in no way can we plan something outside.. also the point of my cousin giving me the money is to have the RD i want.. he askedme all the questions prior.. like where it was planned prior to FH not working, who was invited and all that.. so to switch it would be like a slap to him i feel.
In no way is he the type that would make me feel like i owe him anything. I couldnt go to his wife and sisters shower in FLA b/c it was right after x mas and I was just down there with my nephews.. I rsvp'd no.. I had tickets in the mail the next week. I found out after they were from him. Its not an ego thing with him. It is a genuine thing that he wants me to have the 'wedding i deserve' as he said. My dad isnt involved in life since forever, and my mom is paying for hall but has shelled out a lot when my sister passed with funeral and sutff.. hell its just as expensive which is sick!

I am getting married at all.. I guess I can see if they can do a coctail thing that day-- but I am getting married there-- do I really want that?

I would not accept the offer, I would try and find a more practical alternative. Can you have it at a rest for less then WM? Why not do it at the hotel conference room that FH is staying at the night before? That's what we are doing to save money and we r buying all the food at costco and playing movies of us on the projector screens.

hotel no-- for what we would pay compared to WM for the same amount including a meal and all drinks its hysterical. WM food is better. We know the BM there so we are getting a good deal.. Idk i have to think...
If we have the RD they way we want with OOT family and rehearsal people it is 74 people

WM is less then a rest, that's good shannon!!!! why not cut the bar to only beer and wine that's what we did for my brothers? Are you doing insane stuff like cps or anything? You could just do candles.
