I don't think its weird she hasn't asked yet. A lot of people wait to ask people bc you hear so many bridal party horror stories!
I haven't asked my girls yet lol

Re: What would you do...
So i just wrote up a giant response and it didn't post....
Anyway, to recap my original thought... first, I haven't asked my BP yet,. she still has 11 months, I don't plan on asking mine until under a year out. So don't fret yet.
Personally, if i were in your situation I would wait and see what she does because I agree, it could be potentially awkward. Keep in mind though, just because she may have other close friends and family that she's choosing for hers, that doesn't neccessarily mean she wouldn't love to take part on your special day.
I was in the BP of a good friend last summer, however over the past year we grew apart and I just don't have enough room to have her in mine, and I'm hoping that she'll understand.
FH's old roommate and good friend got married this summer and he was devestated when he found out he wasn't in the BP. I think deep down he planned on asking this guy to be his BM, so now he doesn't know what to do, so I feel you on the situation. I wonder right now if myMOH was the one getting married if I would be her MOH.
Do what makes you happy, not what you think she will think of you. If it comes down to it and she doesn't ask you to be in the BP, and and you still want to ask her, just tell her I'm not offended that I'm not in yours but I couldn't picture my day without you.

Thanks for this....it really does suck b/c we always considered each other family! And i never expected to be her MOH...just a bridesmaid I guess. And I won't lie, I will be offended if she doesn't ask unless it is all family...than I understand!
It's just one of those things..everyone keeps asking me who is my MOH and who is in my BP...I just don't know what to say?!
I usually just say I have 18 months left I haven't really thought that far yet.
But from someone who is having a smaller BP and is worrying about offending people.. dont be too tough on her.

Re: What would you do...
I can relate my best friend growing up decided to get married and I just assumed I would be a BM. Boy was I surprised when I found out I wasnt even invited to the wedding! I broke down on tests on the phone with her and told her how I felt. My family had treated her like family and she basically lived with me through middle school my family and I were shocked and hurt. She explained that she was having a small wedding that her godmother was paying for and she was marrying a man with a big fam. She apologized and let me know she really wasn't the one calling the shots and that she did want me there and she sent me an invite and I attended as a guest. Now I am glad that I wasn't in her bp because I don't want a huge bp bc I want to be able to splurge and help my girls with as many expenses as I can and I already have 6 girls so it will be hard. Not feeling obligated to have her in my bp is a relief and I know she will still be at my special day just like I was at hers.

We asked our bridal party but only bc everyone in it is family. You would hope family wouldn't change by your wedding day! lol
