I am just giving overly emotional advice right now, so I am deleting this.

Has she even asked anyone yet? Our wedding is almost 11 months away, and our engagement party is Sunday, but we haven't asked anyone to be bridesmaids or groomsmen yet.

If you want her to be your MOH, you should ask her ... it doesn't matter if you're in her BP or not.

Two of my BMs got married recently and i wasn't in their BPs at all. it didn't affect anything. they were really honored.

I am just afraid that she will stick me in her party just because I ask...

that's her problem then.

you can always tell her that there's no pressure to ask you to be in her BP ... and that you understand and there would be no hard feelings.

In that case, I agree with what others have said - if you want her there, ask her regardless of whether or not she asks you.

If she really didn't want you in hers, she wouldn't ask you back, even out of a sense of obligation.

Honestly.. I wouldn't stress until about a year from now. I asked my best on/off friend in July when I had my engagement party and the first time we got into a fight she said 'and you asked me to be your bridesmaid?... ' I would NOT stress about it yet.

If she asks you, she asks you. I can see how you would be upset.. but if she wants to ask, she'll ask. Most likely closer to 6 months before the wedding. She might not have decided what she wants to do yet and she might be a little weary if you two are on/off friends.

if you want her to be in YOUR bp then you should just ask her. She might not have gotten around to asking people yet; or is deciding to keep the BP VERY small.

Don't let what she's doing affect what you want. 11 months is still a lot of time.

That's a tough situation. Don't forget to consider what her response may be to you - if she really doesn't want you in her BP, there might be a good chance that she might turn you down when you ask her. I am sorry - I just want you to be prepared in case she says no. I wish you the best of luck with your decision!!

hmmm, has she asked anyone else yet to be in her BP???

if not i would wait a little while longer before asking her!

that would be weird if she didnt ask you being that you are so close

Honestly, to me it wouldnt matter if she asked or not... if she is who you want as your MOH... then you should ask her.

It's possible she didn't pick the bridal party yet. Not everyone picks them right away.

I waited 6 months to pick my bridal party (had some family issues going on and wanted to wait a little before I did anything) so if she just got engaged this past August it's very possible she didn't pick one yet. I also was in a friend's bridal party a few years ago and I'm still close to her but because I'm having so many cousins in my bridal party I decided against asking her b/c I already had 10 girls and 2 flower girls in my BP and didn't even want that much so if she does have a lot of family then I wouldn't really get offended if she doesn't have you in hers. I did make it a point to call her and let her know that I would have loved to have had her but I just couldn't and hope she understood and I think she appreciated the fact that I called her to talk about it. But in all honesty its very possible she didn't pick yet.

I honestly did not ask my bridal party until 2 weeks ago and I just hit my 6 month mark. Granted I do not want a shower and I'll plan my own Bachlorette party.

Maybe she is being smart and waiting until it is a bit closer. A lot of girls have regretted picking their party soon.
