My brother as the engagment gift is paying for my dress.
and he has now offered to pay for our DJ as our wedding gift?
should I take him up on his offer?
I feel so lost....

if i knew he could afford it i might take him up on it, but i would try not to overstep it. i would give myself a budget for the dress and dj.

If he is the one offering it, then of course I would take it!! My brother who is unemployed offered to give me $1000 towards anything i need for my wedding. I told him he didn't have to but he insisted and has been saving up from his unemployment. He lives with my mom so he has no huge bills to pay but I still thought it was thoughtful of him being that he has no real job yet.

I text FH about what he offered, I guess him and I will think about it.

he gave me 1000 budget for my dress and my dress was 600 without alterations. I assume with it can be close to 1000.
Once I speak to Fh and we decide to take him up , I guess him and I can speak about the budget for this?

Thats a very sweet offer! If he has the money for stuff like that i would totally take it! I would absolutely offer a big gift like that to my little brother one day when he gets married! I think its so nice that you have such a nice relationship with your brother!!!

I would take the money if I knew that he was able to afford it and if I had a good relationship with him. As long as I knew that he could afford it, then yes I would take it and thank him 1000x over! Good luck with your decision!

That is an amazing offer. I would tell him how much it means to you and reiterate that he does not have to do that. If he says he wants to then I would let him!

my sisters offered the same.. However i just went and bought the dress myself. They now offered to buy my wedding shoes (+ they want me to 'REQUIRE them' to buy/wear louboutins for us to all wear)
If your brother can offered to do it its a nice gift.. go for it.
