What would you do?

What would you do?

So back in March, I was invited to a co-worker's wedding. I had only known this person for about 4 months when she gave me an invite. The wedding was on a Sunday on staten island, and I live in Suffolk. I really didn't want to go, but I felt obligated since we shared an office.

I ended up going, gave a monetary gift, and left a bit early so that FH and I could be home at a decent hour.

Fast forward to today, I do not work with the girl anymore, text maybe once a month....and still have not received any sort of thank you!! I know that it sometimes takes a while to send out thank yous ...but seven months???? Come on!

I am so tempted to say something. I think it's so rude! What would you do?

I wouldnt say anything, i went to a wedding and it took them a year to send out thank yous! Then i went to a shower in december for a diff girl and her wedding was in jan and to this day i have not gotten a thank you for her shower but we got one for the wedding. This is just plain rude to me but its not worth my time to say anything, i just know not to attend her baby shower coming up nor send a gift!

Maybe they are getting them from the photographer and it's taking awhile to get the pictures back? It's frustrating but I probably wouldn't say anything

I got one last week for a wedding I went to last November, and I still haven't got one for my fsil's bridal shower and wedding in May. People kind of suck with getting their thank you's out.

Etiquette is you have up to a year to give a gift and send out thank yous. Most people prefer to get them done sooner than later but it takes time if you get them from your photographer. Proofs take 6-8 weeks maybe more.

As far as inviting her, if you aren't close don't invite her. I would for the pure fact that you went to hers and gabe her a gift
