A acquaintance is supposed to be doing my makeup on the wedding day. We did a trial a few months ago, and she wanted to do another one yesterday (free) to finalize everything. Well, to make a long story short, she stood me up. She told me she would come to where I live sometime this week I have to tell her when. So, later this morning I will be telling her to come either tomorrow or Tuesday. Do you think I should even give her another shot? I feel terrible because she hooked me up with an awesome deal and the bridesmaids as well. Everyone is telling me to let her come here, and if she is on time etc then just leave it alone. I will be telling her though how she needs to be on time etc....With all the other added stress this is the last thing i need! This is what I get for 'booking' with someone I know. We don't have a contract so I can easily pick someone else.....Not sure what to do!!!

What would you do...
I would give her the benefit of the doubt. I went through something similar. My MOH recommended someone to me and we set a date and time. I rearranged my schedule and receive a text from her and she pushed time back. I accommodated. The day of I received a text from her to see if we can reschedule. I was a bit upset but was stern with her as I reschedule my schedule for her. Long story short she ended up coming and she apologized. Give it another shot but when she does come explain to her that she has to on time and to update her calendar accordingly for your wedding. Lke you said you don't need the added stress and I would address that with her. Keep us posted but give it another shot as you liked how your makeup came out and you will be saving money.

I would give her a second chance...I bet because it was a trial with no contract etc, she probably didn't take it as seriously. Your actual wedding day I am sure she won't want to ruin seeing as she is a friend of a friend. Now when you say stood you up, do you mean didn't show up AND didn't call?

She was supposed to come over at 4 and called to say she was babysitting and is it ok if she comes at 4:30....at 5:30 she calls and says her sister isn't answering her phone etc etc etc, but she will come over as soon as her sister comes to pick up the kids..but on facebook her boyfriend was posting pictures of them hanging out together! At 7:30 I told her I was going back home, and she never answered me. My friend had to text her and let her know how upset I was because at that point I really wanted to call her and give her a piece of my mind. I just wished she was honest with me and said she had to reschedule! Hopefully she can make it out here tomorrow or Tuesday. And, I am gonna have to give her a speech about the wedding...

Definitely say something to her and go with your gut. If you feel she is flakey then definitely use someone else. Under no circumstance do you need any added unnecessary stress. Good luck!

Re: What would you do...
I would give her another chance. As long as she shows up on time for this trial AND understands the importance of being on time the day of your wedding, it should be ok. I was MOH in my best friends wedding a couple years ago and her make-up/hair stylist was 2 hours late and we were ALL on edge. THANKFULLY I went to cosmetology school, so I was able to start setting her hair and stuff... but it was still so upsetting. I think as long as you let her know that she NEEDS to be on time, she should understand! Good luck!
