What would you do?

What would you do?

A friend of mine who is getting married in November had been corresponding with a 'would be vendor' on this board who was trying to get their business off the ground on MY referral.

She's been talking to this woman since July and had been quoted prices and was pretty much counting on her for all of her centerpieces.

Well, my friend JUST got an email TODAY that now the vendor will not do the centerpieces because they've decided that they want to charge more money and that it's not worth their time. Basically saying we know we quoted you price X, but really we charge Y now- too bad for you.

So now, less than ONE month before her wedding she has NO CENTERPIECES.

My advise- even if you know the person, always get a contract.

I am so bummed for my friend.

I agree....if you don't have a contract, it means nothing what they said. As my boss at work always says....'Get it in writing'

I feel so terrible though for her. Where is she getting married? FM me, perhaps I could assist in locating a flower vendor for her. I myself have been on the hunt for a florist and would gladly help her by asking the people I see if they could accommadate her.

I'm sorry that happened to your friend, probably the last thing any bride to be needs to happen. I hope it all works out for her...
