What would you do differently?

What would you do differently?

Do you feel like there are aspects of your wedding that aren't exactly as you'd like them because of wanting to make your guests or your family happy?

For me, I feel like the music is definitely something I'd do differently if I wasn't trying to make it crowd pleasing......

Just where I got my dress, I wish I had known not to go there.

But that has nothing to do with family or friends or guests.

It could be stuff like that too.....I was just thinking about the music I have been choosing for the wedding, and having to keep in mind the multiple tastes and generations that will be there....and knowing that if I could just choose whatever I wanted to dance to, it would be a lot more fun stuff....hip hop, reggae, techno....the kind of stuff I used to go out and dance to in college.........

I would definately have given myself MORE TIME!

I would also change my favors. Between decorating the place card holders, and painting all the pots for the favors, and assembling everything, it is way too much labor! If I could do it over, I would definately go with a more practical favor!

I would also do the flowers differently. Although I love the idea of topiaries, I just think because my mother and I will be doing all the flowers, it is going to be WAY TOO STRESSFUL!

I would also have a smaller bridal party! Because of my FH's influence, we have a total of 28 people plus the bride and groom! YIKES! I would definately try to talk some more sense into FH!

But other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. I know everything will work out and look beautiful in the end, so there is no sense in stressing over it now!

I would have gotten married a year earlier. I also would have stressed again to my photographer the importance of certain pictures that were missed to be sure they were taken. I would have confirmed with my hall specifically about my cake which was yellow cake & should have been chocolate.

I wouldn't have started dress shopping so early. I ended up changing my order months later and causing myself lots of stress that wasn't necessary. I love my dress and I know it is absolutely the one, but theoretically I could have waited until now when all the 2004 lines are coming out before I made a decsion.

I would have done what I (and FH) wanted and took our families to a beach and gotten married on an island.
But oh well, a big wedding will be awesome too.

Well to make it a more crowd pleasing? To please my dad i would have had a band instead of a DJ. He begged me but i said NO!

although i loved our wedding day, i seriously sometimes wished we had eloped. the day goes soooo fast and you think about all of the other things you could have done with the money. with me quitting my job and going back to school, we DEFINITELY could have put that money to much better use.

Not really yet, but I'm afraid there might be. FH's mom is trying to guilt us into asking his sister who he doesn't get along with to be a BM. I know it's kind of rude because we already asked his other sister and not her but she is such a drama queen, I am positively convinced that if she is a BM, she will make this wedding planning 100 times more stressful. Sigh. I hope FH is able to stick to his guns and say NO otherwise, we WILL regret it!!

I wish we would've eloped too, but that said....

So far I regret not picking the BM's dresses myself. I asked them to chose their own, because I wanted them to be happy, and I'm glad they are. But I see so many beautiful dresses!!
I also wish we'd budgeted for a band instead of a DJ. My DJ is fabulous, and I have total confidence in him, but I think nothing beats the ambiance of a band.

The one and only thing I regret about my wedding is allowing my mother to have more of her friends there than I had. Her friends were very cheap and she wanted me to get the better gift. It wasn't about the gift for me. I would have rather had my unemployed friend there with me on my special day then 25 bucks in a card from her idiotic ex-coworkers!!!!!!
