My cousin who I've been close with pretty much my entire life has been distant the past few years. He got married in 2001 and I was in the BP and gave the best man speech (one because I knew him best and 2 because his BM was a chicken). Fast forward a few years, he is no longer with his wife (they have divorced) and his current GF gets pregnant. He asks me to be the God Mother of the child (which freaks me out, but excites me) and then has the Baptism and doesn't tell me. (I find out through family what's going on the whole time.) He never even addresses it with me like he never asked. I'm fuming about this for awhile, but I'm over it and just ticked at him because of his behavior. Well him and his GF get married in the JOP because now they have another child on the way. They get married the same day FH and I get engaged!!!!! So fast forward to now. I still haven't told him how f'ed up it was that he asked me to be the God Mother of his first child. We talk more than we did before and he calls to ask me if he can bring his 2 kids to our eparty (not til October and I not a big deal because they are babies). I'm still ticked about the whole God mother thing and don't want to be GM of his second kid just to make it up to me, but feel like I want him to maybe be involved in my BP. I'm so confused.

Word. Not talking about it just makes it worse.

Definitely talk to him. Guys can just be really dumb about things..... and, his wife may not even know that he asked you!!!!

I agree with the girls. Def. talk to him. He might have no idea what happened or how you feel.

I dont know. Talking about it seems like a good idea. Maybe you can write a letter if you dont want to do it face to face.

i def. agree.. he could have asked you ..and then told her after the fact.. that could have upset her cause he didn't discuss it with her. Guys def. become oblivious to this kind off stuf!!

Re: What would you do... kind of long
I would talk to him or write him a letter. He probably has no idea he hurt you. His wife may not even know that he asked you, and she might have had someone on her side for the GM position and he never came back and told you. Now that so much time has passed, he may be uncomfortable bringing it up or has no idea it was a big deal. Men are funny that way.
He sounds important to you, so I would deal with it now so you can avoid regretting later on if you don't include him in your special day.
Good luck!

Re: What would you do... kind of long
I think best way to solve is to flat out talk about it and be upfront and honest...I am sure it will be a difficult thing to address...but I would, esp if it is really bothering you...and it def seems like it is...
