What Would You Do - LONG

What Would You Do - LONG

I spoke with one of my OOT BM's on Tuesday night. She said she was having problems finding shoes b/c summer is winding down and she forgot to get them before she went to Africa. I told her not to stress, that there are plenty of online sites where she could still get them. She asked me to look, so I did.

As a result of my search, I decided to send an email to all the BMs with pictures of shoes that looked comfy to me, that were the color the girls agreed on months ago (silver strappy sandals), and inexpensive. So I sent the email, which in all caps said 'you do not have to buy any of these shoes, this email is for informational purposes only'

I got emails from the two that didn't know I was doing this. One said thank-you so much this was really helpful (together with a bunch of other stuff), the other said 'pick the shoes and tell me where to buy them' that's it, nothing else.

How should I take this?? Is she uninterested? Does she just not give a hoot? or is she just the most mellow MOH on the planet and wants me the bride to make the decision??

I should add, that her shoes are the only ones that won't really show b/c she is wearing a floor length gown and the BMs are wearing tea length.

I just don't know how to respond to this email. So, what would you do??

to be honest...I would pick a pair and tell her where to buy them...Sometimes it is not worth giving things any more thought than that...

my answer: most mellow MOH on the planet and wants me the bride to make the decision...

I did the same thing to my girls - some said thanks, others said 'I'm so used to the bride telling us a specific shoe, and can't figure out what i want, so pick one.'

Pick and choose the battles, and don't be too sensitive. She asked to pick the shoe out for her - so pick one out...if she gets it, she gets it.

There are so many choices out there for silver sandal shoes out there. I actually am doing the same thing and my MOH called and asked me the same question a few months ago, b/c she knows how finicky I am being with other things, she wanted to make sure I would approve her choice. I had to laugh, b/c I didn't realize just how finicky I was being. I just told her to buy whichever she wanted and whatever was comfortable to her.

I wouldn't take your MOH response as negative. She prob just wants to make your life easier with the e-mail you sent out and just go with what you like, even with the title they are under no condition to buy them.

I think she is saying this to be helpful...2 of my girls had 'shoe issues' which were driving me crazy and the other 3 basically said 'pick them, tell me where to buy them' as to be agreeable and not put more kinks in the works...I don't know your BM so I can't be sure but that's how I would take it.

I would just send her a casual email back like

....nah, you can choose, I was just doing research for so and so, so thought I pass it along

But whatever you want is fine with me as long as there is something on your feet :)

(I always add the :) when I am trying to be non confrontational and nice)

My vote - She is just the most mellow MOH on the planet and wants you to make the decision

I think you may be reading a little to much into her e-mail. I do that too and just last night called a friend to ask how I should respond to an e-mail (obviously not wedding related )

Tell her which shoes you prefer and where she can get them

Im voting for mellow. If she knows who you are, she knows you wouldnt put any undue stress on her. I was a very relaxed bride myself when it came to the clothing. The BMs picked and agreed upon the color (which I happened to like) and they each picked their own dress. I gave them the option of picking dyables or silver. They all wore silver and all were different shoes. I didnt care. I wanted them to be happy - just like you.

I agree... and think that her answer might have been the best one she could have given.... she wants to make you happy. period, end of story.

Definitely don't make things more than they are.. she may have been real brief in the email cause she was in a rush and maybe thought you wanted them bought asap or something.... be happy she didnt reply 'i hate them all'
