i had my sample centerpiece from the lorist we are going to use. I was s'posed to get the sample centerpiece last wed(day b4 thanksgiving) well i couldnt see the sample b/c some of my flowers didnt come in. So the florist said that he will bring it tomorrow thanksgiving mornin but i was in Conn.
so finally the next available night was tonight! 6 days from when it was made....it is roses hydrangea and pshtanem(sp??) and orchids
the pshtanem or whatever they are callled were basically dead...
Now i feel like omg my flowers will be horrible at the wedding if i use this florist
background to florist...it is my dads friend through baseball in town, he is good nice guy and i like him..and he is giving us a great price
he also explained the flowers conditions and how it has been 6 days but the roses and hydrangea held up nicely
I am just being like crazy picky my FH says he is sure it will be ok for the wedding.....i just feel uneasy like....but i dunno
i like the ideas the florist has.Argh
what would you do

Re: what would you do-looooooong
I think I would ask for a fresh sample and tell him I was having too much trouble visualizing the differences.

I am sure your flowers will be fresh and alive the day of your wedding. When it gets closer to the wedding, or even now, ask if he can make you another sample. Ask him if he can even make you a small sample of what the bouquets will look like. This may help you to stop worrying.

well did the centerpiece look like it was put together nicely, despite the flowers being dead? if so, i dont think you should worry too much about it.

I would ask him to do another sample for you NOW. It's not your problem that you were out of town when the flowers came in and just because he's a friend of the family, it doesn't mean he should treat you any differently than he would any other bride. If he were any other vendor with no relationship, wouldn't you want another fresh sample? It's not like we're talking about some every day, run of the mill occasion here. I'm not saying he's trying to but don't let him treat with any lesser degree of customer service. JMHO.

I would ask for another sample. You want to know now not the day of your wedding that the flowers will look just like you had plan. My girlfriend had her florist redo her sample b/c it came out completely wrong the first time they arranged the centerpiece

Exactly. That way you will know exactly what it looked like 6 days before. But honestly I truly believe it will be fine, you have to understand it was 6 days after when you saw it.
